Preface
Welcome to the April 2022 edition of the Monthly Roundup. This newsletter is designed to keep our employees and the public updated with any changes in the city or department. Attached to the newsletter will be a message from the office of the Chiefs of Department, awards, key moments and careers. Any additions to the newsletter please contact Public Relations via helpdesk.
Message from the Chief
“The Department has been incredibly busy throughout the month of April. There have been lots of key moments, such as the Department’s assistance in the UFC Event, the temporary role swap for the Head of Internal Affairs and Patrol, the 2.0 release of our Observation Report Guidelines, release of the Employee Satisfaction Survey results and a new Complaint Committee Mandate. Chief of Department Acer and I would like to thank anyone who was involved in any of these moments.
The Employee Satisfaction Survey has been incredibly useful for us to gather comments on how people feel the Department is running, and we will be making relevant changes to remain inline with this feedback. The Chief of Department and I intend to change the Department for the better as a result of this survey and are happy that we received 26 unique responses. The results of this have been published on the PERPHeads Forums and will likely be presented prior to our upcoming Pan PLPD Session, which you can expect an announcement for in the month of May.
Overall, it has been a successful month and Chief of Department Acer and I are incredibly proud of the work everyone has achieved. As always, our door always remains open, you can reach out to either one of us via the help desk, Steam or a private message.”

Police Meritorious Achievement
Awarded to: Lieutenant Ellie Wolf 6969 (Ellie)
"The Office of the Chiefs of Department are pleased to present Lieutenant Ellie with the Police Meritorious Achievement Award. Of her own accord over the span of several months, she extensively gathered data relating to and accounts from those who had served as Probationary Officers, so as to identify issues with the current system. Upon presenting these findings to the Office of the Chiefs of Department, she then worked by herself to develop and publish a new Probationary Officer guide, liaising with the Head of Administrative Services throughout to ensure an effective delivery. This has culminated in the process surrounding Probationary Officers being made infinitely more clear; reducing the amount of standing Probationary Officers; and enabling those individuals to be able to get quickly promoted back to the Officer rank. Her extensive work has informed much of the upcoming Policy Review and has set an expected standard for all guides and policies in the future."

Police Distinguished Service
Awarded to: Senior Officer Ethan Head 1409 (EthanB)
"The Tactical Firearms Command team are proud to bestow Senior Officer Ethan Head with a Police Distinguished Service award for their contributions to the Tactical Firearms Unit. Senior Officer Ethan went above and beyond in ensuring he remained a merit to the Tactical Firearms Unit as a whole, doing a great deal in protecting its integrity and reputation despite having more responsibilities than just within TFU. During his time as a Tactical Firearms Trainer, He maintained a consistent and attentive demeanour and exercised utmost discretion when marking applications. The officer went the extra mile by ensuring applications were marked correctly and if there were any signs of a copied application. We wish Ethan the best of luck in any and all future Endeavours."
