Any additions to the newsletter please contact Human Resources via helpdesk.MESSAGE FROM THE CHIEF
The 2025 ship has sailed with January already over and us entering February, a steady start with many of our colleagues settling back in their duties after the Christmas/New Years celebrations. We hope that everyone has rested well and is ready for all the future changes and additions to PLPD.One of the most exciting things to launch this month was the rework of Tactical Firearms certifications, with an amended and improved recruitment system for those looking to become a Tactical Firearms Recruit and our more experienced Tactical Firearms Officers to finally have an opportunity to become some of our first Tactical Firearms Incident Commanders!
Other divisions have also been busy with preparing applications and some of the amazing divisions that people can apply to are: Traffic, Dispatch and Internal Affairs. If you are interested in joining any of those divisions, make sure to check out the applications under the 'Careers' tab and best of luck to those that have already applied!
Patrol Command sadly had to say goodbye to Spoon, who was their Lieutenant and we are wishing him well on his future endeavours. This opens up a fantastic opportunity for those looking to advance their PLPD career and take on a command role within our Patrol Command Team, the application is open and awaiting submissions for those interested! Patrol Command has also announced a campaign, #RespectTheLine with a great promotional video for those that haven't watched it yet, we hope to see many Officers engaging in the enforcement of perimeters and 6.5 throughout the month of February.
Our quarterly Employee Satisfaction Survey for 2024 has come to a close with very insightful feedback that we hope to use for continuous improvements as a department, thank you to all of those that have submitted a response!
- Deputy Chief of Department Adrienne Kali

Officer of the Month - January 2025
Awarded to: Corporal Nikola Fischer 7000 (Vollgas)
It is my pleasure to award Corporal Vollgas with the Officer of the month award on behalf of the Office of Operations Services. Vollgas was nominated by several of his colleagues who pointed out his extremely professional policing skills that far exceed expectations for his current rank. Notably, Vollgas consistently takes charge of more trivial tasks while on duty that other officers may be quick to ignore, such as perimeter duty, prisoner transports, etc. We hope to see you stay consistent with these qualities and skillset. Congratulations!
- Major Damon Creed (Aquaa), Operation Services
Dispatcher of the Month - MONTH 2024
Awarded to: Sergeant Kiera Doakes 2070 (The Peak)
It is my pleasure to award Sergeant Kieran the Dispatcher of the month award on behalf of the Office of Operations Services. He has accumulated a total of 12hrs on duty as a dispatcher in the month of January, certainly making him one of the most active (if not the most) dispatchers. Kieran was specifically nominated as a result of his proficient communications and management of police units throughout different situations. Additionally, he exercised initiative by following up on incidents to update the status and in return had proper and effective allocation of all PD & other EMS units. We look forward to seeing you carry on with this skillset as a Dispatcher, congratulations!
- Major Damon Creed (Aquaa), Operation Services
Police Distinguished Service
Awarded to: Lieutenant Edward Field 3542 (Tillin)
For their recent dedication and hard work to the Tactical Firearms Unit through overhauling the TFU handbook, We present Lieutenant Edward Field with the distinguished service award. Tilin worked tirelessly in overhauling the handbook to be more readable, functional, and easy to navigate, being the primary force behind the majority of recent amendments to the handbook. Thanks to Tilin, the handbook is now more functional for both users and TFU Command. We hope to see Tilin continue to dedicate work towards the PLPD throughout 2025 and beyond.
- Captain Cosmo Sallow
Police Distinguished Service
Awarded to: Lieutenant Dom Gandhi 1234 (Dom_)
The Tactical Firearms Unit would like to commend Lieutenant Dom Gandhi for their efforts regarding the Tactical Firearms Unit certifications update. Prior to its release, Dom wrote the bulk majority of all policy changes and additions that accompanied the changes to our division. For their tremendous effort within the Tactical Firearms Unit, we would like to present the distinguished service award to Dom for their unwavering dedication to ensuring the policies surrounding the change of circumstances are concise and reasonable. We thank Lieutenant Dom Gandhi for the effort put into the policy accommodating the recent changes and hope to see these efforts carry on in 2025.
