Preface

Welcome to the November 2021 edition of the Monthly Roundup. This newsletter is designed to keep our employees and the public updated with any changes in the city or department. Attached to the newsletter will be a message from the office of the Chiefs of Department, awards, key moments and careers. Any additions to the newsletter please contact People Services via helpdesk.

Message from the Chief

There have been some seismic changes this month and great progress is being made with regards to our roadmap for the future of the Department.

I am pleased to announce that command recruitment for all the divisions has finally completed, and we now have a full Patrol Command and Road Traffic Command in-place. This will allow us to focus on changes and implementations. I will release further communications shortly after this roundup is released detailing the State-of-Play of the organisation structure, as well as how the recruitment processes were carried out.

Hayden and I are now in the process of conducting a Command Consultation so that the different commands can have their say on five important and upcoming changes, which will see some new rank and divisional implementations. More details on these changes will be released soon but they are all positive, constructive changes which will strengthen our Department as a whole.

All the new command members have been invited to join the Complaints Committee and soon the committee’s chairperson Mim will be elevating one of the Complaints Committee members to a Senior position. This will allow for more meetings to be held consistently and at more regular intervals which should help reduce lead times on complaints.

Over the course of December there will be several important communications being released about the impending changes, including exciting opportunities for everyone in the Department to have their say and get involved. In the meantime, if you have any ideas or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact either myself or Hayden via the helpdesk. Thank you!

- Chief of Department Acer Joseph
