Preface
Welcome to the November 2022 edition of the Monthly Roundup. This newsletter is designed to keep our employees and the public updated with any changes in the city or department. Attached to the newsletter will be a message from the office of the Chiefs of Department, awards, key moments and careers. Any additions to the newsletter please contact Human Resources via helpdesk.
Message from the Chief
There have been a couple of substantial changes during the month of November. One of the biggest changes of the month was shuffling and changing the division lines. Administrative Services has been renamed back to Professional Standards and now oversees the complaint committee in addition to Internal Affairs and Policy Board. Lieutenant Mini and Super have also joined as Professional Standards members to assist A1L. Operations Services now contains the Dispatch division, which used to be under the former Administrative Services. These changes have now been made so that each individual line has a better primary focus; Operations Services being operational in-game divisions and Professional Standards being our disciplinary processes.
In addition to the line changes, as of the 1st of December, command members are now expected to go on duty in-game for a minimum time of 4 hours per calendar month. This change has been made following a discussion with the Senior Management Team and Policy Board. With this change now implemented under the activity policy, colleagues in lower ranks should now hopefully see an increased presence of command members on the server. Feel free to reach out and say hello if you do see one.
The Department has had another good month where we have seen good recruitment uptake and lots of officers going on duty. As always, John Davids and I are forever grateful for the work you all put it and look forward to seeing what you all achieve over the next month. We are moving into December now and the end of the year, so keep an eye out for special announcements over the next few weeks.
