Preface
Welcome to the September 2023 edition of the Monthly Roundup. This newsletter is designed to keep our employees and the public updated with any changes in the city or department. Attached to the newsletter will be a message from the office of the Chiefs of Department, awards, key moments and careers. Any additions to the newsletter please contact Human Resources via helpdesk.
Message from the Chief
Plenty to go over this month, with another campaign for Patrol officers to take advantage of, plus news about the future of PLPD.online.
Patrol Command announced a new campaign, #Nope2Dope, this September, having recognised the increase in distribution, production, and possession of drugs in the city. They are offering rewards to Patrol officers who participate in the campaign, so check out their announcement for details on how to join. Additionally, Development Services has announced this month that development on a replacement to PLPD.online is well under way. To be as transparent as possible, we are providing a public test build which anyone can login to and check out all features being added every day. An update log is also provided to all administrative staff though the PLPD discord. Given how reliant upon PLPD.online we are, I wanted to publicly thank Development Services, specifically Sindarin, for taking on this massive task!
Operations Services is currently looking for a new Head of Dispatch so if you have ideas about how to develop and improve the division, I strongly recommend checking out the application. It would be remiss of me if I didn’t thank Ellie, the outgoing Head of Dispatch, for her years of service in shaping the division. I wish her well in her future endeavours.
As usual, if you have anything you want to ask or tell us, feel free to reach out to me or Hayden.
- Deputy Chief of Department John Davids
