Server Suggestion Phone notification

Suggestion Title: Phone notification
Suggestion Description: When you receive a toot or you are messaged via text, your screen will have a pop up gmod notification on the bottom right saying the message and who it was.

If the message is too long it will say a brief part and continue with "...."

Ideally, this would be beautified with an actual phone UI sneaking up that portion of the screen to immerse the player into seeing it as if the player just glanced at the phone for a brief moment.

Why should this be added?:
- Notifications become easier to acknowledge
- Improves user experience with phones.
- Makes SMS and tooting more viable
- Improves QoL for all players from all sides of the game
- Makes Tooter more prone to the event of "Twitter beef"

What negatives could this have?:
- Someone might find the phone popping up annoying if they get too many notifications

What problem would this suggestion solve?: 1) If you're around other people, it is impossible to know who received a message because you can't feel the phone vibrate realistically. Everyone ends up checking their phones to see but with this change people no longer need to do that. They will know if it was them by the added visual cue.

2) Tooter can use more attention and I think this will give it that push it needs to make it easy for people to start In character drama digitally.

3) Users who are working will now have an easier workflow. PPS drivers and customers alike will just be able to quickly glance at their phones to get status updates on the process.

4) Players are receiving important notifications will have an easier time acknowledging them.

- Players who have their vehicles impounded will know immediately they are being texted by RC that their car was impounded.
- Players who have set up security will be notified appropriately that their home is broken into or their car is being attempted a theft upon.

Just for the negative: Someone might find the phone popping up annoying if they get too many notifications

I believe that could easily be resolved within an added phone setting to disable / enable it.

The only negative that I can see is the realism about it, As you'll be receiving texts in the pop-up without actually having your phone in hand.

I believe that could easily be resolved within an added phone setting to disable / enable it.

The only negative that I can see is the realism about it, As you'll be receiving texts in the pop-up without actually having your phone in hand.

It seems you would only get a short preview on the message, not the whole text. So it is likely you would need to open the phone and check it for the full context of messages anyway.

Another alternative is instead of getting the first part of the message, just pop up with what the notification is (Messages, Tooter, etc) and who it’s from. Similar to how iPhone won’t show you a preview of the text until you unlock it. This way, you can avoid the unrealistic part of seeing a text without having your phone in your hand, but also give players a chance to see what the notification is for without needing to open their phone if they are busy.

I like the idea of making the pop up a setting so players can disable it if they want.
