PLPD People's Union.

Need Representation?

Who are we?

The PLPD People's Union (PPU) is a non-profit union organisation that represents members of the PLPD (and other Government organisations) who are members or not of the union. We are not officially endorsed, funded, recognised or supported by the PLPD at this current moment of time. PPU provides help and support when problems arise at work and negotiate for all grades of staff in the PLPD, Fire Department, EMS, Courier, Taxi, Secret Service and Roadcrew. This is represented in our organisation logo displaying the three main public services of Paralake respectively, blue for Police, pink for EMS and orange for Fire service.

If you are a member, or not, you have access to professional advice about your rights and will be supported by our highly trained Union reps and officials.

Our goal one day is to be fully integrated as a respected but separate entity into the PLPD to enable to help represent members of Government organisations currently facing any form of administrative actions being taken upon themselves, whether it be through Internal Affairs or administrative actions.

We want you to feel secure and valued in your job and have a say in your pay and conditions, as well as administrative actions that may be alleged against you.

Why were we set up?

I have been discharged a few times from the PLPD over the years it has been established, and it has came to my attention that I was unable to represent myself, or have a suitable defence when I recently was discharged under the circumstances that would appear to be unfair. This situation was in full-view of the Chief of Department, and refused to assist with any form of representation whatsoever in my defence.

As a result of this, we feel as if those facing administrative action through IA investigations or other means are not represented properly without a valid defence. We want to act to ensure that members of these organisations have a strong and effective representation, PPU wants to protect people at work and help resolve issues before they become major problems. PPU ensures that these members are aware of their rights in the workplace.

Who can join PPU?

Anyone can join the PPU, on the basis that they are a concurrent or recently discharged member of the PLPD or any other Government funded organisation seeking to either support or seek advice from the PPU.

Good reasons to join.

Advice and Support
PPU workplace reps advise and support you at work and are backed up by highly trained officials. Specialising in defence against yourself within Internal Affairs cases or administrative action, we will represent you to give you a leg to stand on.

Your voice
PPU gives you a strong voice at work. Without a union, you are less likely to have a say in your terms and conditions and how your employer operates.

Safer workplace
PPU takes safety at work seriously, and will maintain that this goal is achieved with union members.

Initially yes I was however I was told to wind my neck in by Fredy otherwise he'll have no one to minge with, plus I'm sick to death of seeing the PLPD seemingly appearing unregulated by outside sources.

If the subordinates are unionising that may be a sign that reform is required within the departments due to failings within either the chain of command or policy.
It'll only be like... the 5th attempt since 2019, right? It'll work in a manner which appeases everyone this time... It has to!!!

Wed 09/Feb/2022 Newletter.

Introduction

It has been a good start so far with the opening of the union. We have already supplied legal advice to 7 employees within 48 hours! We hope that our input has greatly helped steer their tribunals to an appropiate direction.

Our goal of being fully recognised by the PLPD however has fallen short, this was reflected severely by a PM I had recieved by the Chief himself stating that I had no business with PD affairs, and anything I input will be duly ignored without hesitation! This is unjust for the ordinary hardworking officer of PLPD as it clearly shows the Chain of Command not caring for their workers. This upsets us at the PPU, we assure you that we will always have your back!

Recruitment Update.

Today we welcome @Murtsley to the organisation. He was talent spotted by the head of the Union due to his overworldly profession in law specialising in workplace tribunals. We hope that together we can deliver the correct and appropriate justice and support to those seeking legal advice at work.

Our positions are always open at the Union, wether you wish to become a representative or not.

Homines primi.

End of Week wrap up.

General statistics that are to be uploaded every 2 weeks, usually Sundays. Here we can see what kind of tribunals that PLPD folk usually face, and ironically use of force is the main issue.

As always, we will help anyone facing action and we will always guide them towards the correct direction when facing disciplinary actions.

Any member of the PLPD is automatically enrolled as a union member on enlistment, however becoming a union representative (which enables you to respresent other members on behalf of the union) requires formal applications processing with the Head of Union.
