Is this a suggestion for a policy/handbook change: handbook
Is this a new policy or a change to a current policy:
New addition
What policy do you wish to change:

Reasonable speed in Response to an incident:
Officers driving through areas which feature a low speed limit, or in densely populated areas are expected to drive at a reasonable speed when responding to an incident. An example of a reasonable speed in the event of an emergency would be driving 50 MPH through a 35 zone to respond to life threatening incidents. Going full speed down a road that has a low speed limit should only be done in extreme circumstances where an officer is fleeing for their own lives.

Why should this change/addition be made:
Stops officers, especially RTU, running people over and / or crashing their vehicles to respond to a shootout.

There’s little reason for an officer should blaze 90MPH down a slow speed limit zone to respond to a shootout as despite it being important they be there, it puts more people at risk of the officers actions just for a few more seconds response time.

OH NO I CANNOT MAKE A POLL

But there is a law for this already?
4.3 Exemption from Law
A government emergency service worker does not act unlawfully if their actions are contrary to any law and their actions are reasonable, justifiable and proportionate and are necessary for the effective execution of their duties.
If it needs to be spelt out because people are dumb, then should it not be in the handbook? There are already many policies, this would just add to the pile and would not serve that much purpose.

No because this law says officers can speed to respond to incidents. This policy aims to prevent officers from going 100 MPH down a single lane road swerving onto the wrong side quickly to attend a shootout or other incident.

Se bold words, also why would a handbook page not make more sense?

@Samuel Edited to say it should be a handbook page. Also, The terms used in bold are subject to interpretation and are often misinterpreted or ignored completely.

I can only see this happening when civilians actually yield for emergency vehicles, which will probably be never.
If i or another officer drive 80MPH and some moron gets run over, then, maybe, that person should not stand on a street?
If you cut off a corner with 80 or 40pmh, in both cases you could hit someone. There is nothing wrong with speeding on a straight road. Everyone in this game drives like a tard and doesnt check before merging onto a different road. If that causes a crash, then it'll be a lesson for both drivers
