Suggestion Title: Remote explosives expode when you hang up
Suggestion Description: Remote explosives should explode once you hang up the phone call or have a setting to do so. This would act as a deadman's trigger.
Could be useful, as right now we only have had an option to roleplay or threaten it. This would allow you to do actual hostage sits whilst being scared for the bomb to go off

Why should this be added?:
- Better hostage situations

What negatives could this have?:
- People randomly exploding stuff when dying, causing unecessary deaths

If this were to be implemented, there should be a way back from the edge.

T (phone close key) will always detonate the explosive.
Z (hangup call) will cancel the process and disarm the explosive.
Death will detonate the explosive like a dead-man's switch as long as you are on the call.

Remote explosives have a 3/4 second call sound
Timed explosives have the ticking sound
Car bombs make a sound

This is in place to keep it balanced and give people a chance

How would you give a chance for people to run away / get warned a bomb is going off?

Place a red light/sprite on the bomb when it is active/armed. When triggered to explode, use the default call sequence which will give a final warning that it's about to explode, just like how it works now.

Maybe give it a larger delay and essentially make it a quicker timed explosive

I like this idea!
Maybe add a voice explaining it every time you call the number.
"Bomb is primed. Press Z to cancel, or press T to detonate"
or something along those lines.

I think this is nice, although it would probably be used in base defense so when people push in they get exploded when you kill the guy with the phone, you could add this to the "Negatives" side of the thread :)

Yea,that would probably be used in base defense,Although if the way it works now is still in place, then you should have the Warning Ringtone that will allow you to either Rush Past it or move back from it ,in order to avoid blowing up.

Agree, but then again it kinda removes the idea of a dead mans switch lmfao. But the idea is totally workable!

Actually being able to dead man switch without having to hold a grenade would be pretty sick ngl. This is, after all, a role playing server and actually enforcing hostage situations with a dead man’s switch would suffice.

After yesterday's TFU Stage 2, kinda made me think that way too.

Yes, but the bomb doesn't kill as much as it does fuck everything up. In that case if you have friends in your base, you're fucking yourself up.

I could have not blown up my car with this...

The remote explosive on the server is already a realistic representation of a radio controlled IED, why change it?

The idea of a remote deadman switch controlled by a phone is complete fantasy.

Realistically, if you get domed while on the phone, your call wouldn't just hang itself up. Your phone doesn't know when you die so how could it act as a deadman switch.

It shouldn't be call related specifically, rather just activating a button because that's what a dead mans switch is

Realistically a radio controlled IED won't be controlled in the first place. Realistically you won't hang up your phone when you die. Realistically a deadman's switch is a radio controlled switch, that gets triggered when the switch gets released i.e. release of the remote in hand.

I'm not talking about realism, just as a potential solution to people not taking hostage situations seriously. It's hard to take someone with a dead man's switch serious if you know it's not possible.

Potentially, we could also introduce a trigger item instead of the current system of calling the bomb. That trigger could work on pressure release (so on mouse button release), which would also prevent you from shooting whilst using it. Maybe it'd make a priming noise when it happens, alarming everyone and maybe a light on the bomb going from green to red.
