Main idea:
Either:
Reduce the price of sniper ammo
OR
Have sniper ammo boxes contain 20 rounds instead of 10.
Description:
Despite metal being cheaper now, sniper ammo only really went down in crafting price by like $300. Sniper ammo contains 10 rounds a box and is both the most expensive ammo to make, and the lowest capacity per batch.
Now that sniper ammo isn't useful for levelling up marksmanship, sniper ammo being so low yield high cost makes no sense.
It takes 2 boxes to fill an M14 or G3A3 magazine. That's like 6k for guns that are hardly used.
Sniper ammo should still remain somewhat high cost low yield, but not to the extent where its price out-values a handgun. Theres a reason no one uses the M14 anymore and this plays a huge part in that reason.
This can be achieved in 2 ways:
- Removing the "25% Piece of metal" Needed, which would bring the price down to 2650 a box
- Doubling the capacity of sniper ammo
Ammunition for large calibre rifles IRL is usually sold in cartons of 20 to 100. 20 being the smallest, this would be the acceptable level.
Pros:
- More value for money
- Would make sniper ammo easier to sell
- Would make snipers miles more useful and viable as a choice
Cons:
- Idk more sniping I guess??? Is this even a con????
- Peoples sniper ammo inventories becoming half full.
