Description of the idea:
This idea is to reduce the volume range of gunshots occurring inside a building when heard from the outside of the building.
Significantly reduce the gunshot volume range when gunshots are fired inside of buildings or in ”high population” areas such as in the city and business sector.
Gunshots act as dinner bells in raids allowing officers 1/5th across the map to respond to them.
You could argue that gunshot volume restrictions like this would be unrealistic, however, In a building, gunshots wouldn’t be audible for the distance that they currently are since sound works by vibrations in the air, which is absorbed by walls.
Gunshots inside a building should still be audible from outside the property however from a lower range than they currently are.
Why should this be added? (pros):
- Realistic to an extent
- People will actually have a reason to use rifle suppressors.
What negatives could this have? (cons):
- Less shootouts?
- People can just call 911 and inform cops they are being raided anyways.
