Police Suggestion [Suggestion] Add channels for each section on the PD Discord

Brief description of idea: Add both a text and voice channel for each section on the PD discord. For those who don't know we have a discord https://discord.gg/gKQZNq

What benefits would this idea have for the department:
-These channels can be used to socialise with other members of your section and organise patrols as Discord is a very easy way to see who else is online in your section.
- PD discord has a purpose as it's currently being neglected

What potential negatives could this have for the department:
-This doesn't get used at all.
-Less people use the TS

I think if it was pulled off correctly, moving everything that Discord does to the Intranet might make more sense. I personally believe the following:

• Observation reports & other 'quick' duties should be done in-game, rather than hours/days after the actual patrol.
• All important functions (long term communication, logistics, etc) should live in one place (eg. plpd.online)
• Ability to arrange patrols with other members of your section should be seamless & efficent, and possibly even notify you via the forums/teamspeak.

We need to find a solution which has the lowest potential to be ignored, if observation reports are incentivised and made easier to do, perhaps more people would do them & use new methods for doing so. I feel like having everything polluting a Discord that only some people use can be annoying to deal with, some people would prefer all communication to be done through plpd.online.

The good thing about Discord is the ability to chat via voice, but this isn't a functionality that is too hard to implement into a website such as plpd.online.

Discord is obviously the modern way of metagaming communicating online. The biggest thing for me is being able to use functions like /here and being able to see who's online in your section allowing you to organise patrols together. Long term, the intranet could be great but obviously its a shit ton of work what your suggesting when Samuel and Tiny both our primary source of IT are having less influence having resigned. Using Discord for something like this could be a solution until the website is finished for something like this.

Because the last message in the general chat was on the ninth and the last person to get roles was on the 1st, this seems kind of useless since discord has been mostly ignored, half the people who talked arent in the disc anymore

I agree with ayjay for once. I feel everything that discord does should be moved to the intranet. Pretty sure I suggested something like this but it was just closed.

Personally i feel like on duty cops should be encouraged to use the teamspeak channels like Police Channel 1&2, and can freely discuss IC police related incidents, but not for stuff like locations of suspects, its like investigative shit, observation reports can be done 1 on 1 in there sort of things. Regular Patrol when there isnt anything happening can also be discussed here.

I believe there should be discord channels for sections and maybe we should try to encourage section members to use it often as a way of communicating with section lead and voicing their concerns. Although, I still think PLPD should be the main way of contact for other issues not concerning sections.

Personally I believe we should be moved away from Discord. I love Discord, don't get me wrong, but its a younger app, meaning it doesn't have everything like TS, PLPD, or the functions in the game have. Also its way to easy to metagame.
