Brief description of idea: Give officers ranked CPL+ trunk access to car of their unit partner.
What benefits would this idea have for the department: So it makes it easier to enforce the shotgun police what does not allow you to carry your shotgun on your back at all times. It also saves time so you don’t have to give someone trunk access. So you can start your patrol sooner.
It's also better for you as a civilian since you don’t have to remove the trunk aces again. With the risk of forgetting it and people stealing your civilian car trunks empty.
What potential negatives could this have for the department: None: since only officers ranked CPL+ can do this other officers can not ‘steal’ shotguns. And you have to be in the same unit so some random kid can not just steal the shotgun out of your trunk.
