PARALAKE POLICE DEPARTMENT
(VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED) UFC 201 Security & Counter-Terrorism

Dear colleagues,

The Chief of Department has been contacted by the UFC based in Paralake to request a dispensation to operate a live MMA event in the coming weeks. Ordinarily the Paralake Penal Code permits the Paralake Police Department to charge parties with 9.1 Physical Assault on either party's behalf, regardless of whether there was any consent. The Chief of Department has decided that, in the interest of community co-operation and promoting the economic growth of Paralake City, that the UFC should be granted permission to operate this event.

The organisation will have a system of licensed fighters who will be the only individuals, bar "cornermen" and match officials, to enter the "Octagon" and engage in wilful and consenting 9.1 Physical Assault for the purposes of entertainment. The Paralake Police Department will be ultimately responsible for the security co-ordination and counter-terrorism tasking of this event to ensure the safety of spectators.

We are therefore calling for officers of any rank and division to volunteer to assist with the co-ordination of this event. You can inform the UFC directly of your intention to attend the event on behalf of the Paralake Police Department through this form. In addition to this, please inform the Chief of Department directly via the Helpdesk with your expression of interest to police this event.

Not all colleagues will have the opportunity to police this event due to limited availability, however the Chief of Department will ensure for fairness that a mixture of ranks and divisions are able to participate with priority given to colleagues with minimal recent Observation Reports or recognition in the form of awards. Once the official date of the event is released, more communications will be circulated, including the following:
  • A 'Taskforce' announcement will be made, informing the wider Department which colleagues have been successful in appointment to the management of the event as well as the TPOC (Tasking, Performance & Operational Coordination) Commander for the event, which will be a Lieutenant or higher.
  • An Intelligence Repository will be made available by the Chief of Department which goes over the Rules of Entry to the chosen venue, as well as outlining known threats and their likelihood of occurrence through a probability yardstick. Based on the list of attendees, licensed fighters, cornermen and match officials, a Threat Level will be chosen. This Intelligence Repository will be made available to all colleagues, regardless of whether they are appointed to the Taskforce or not.
  • A date prior to the match event for the Taskforce to use the Training System with the TPOC Commander to go over questions re: the Intelligence Repository, as well as pre-plan roles and positions for the venue.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns regarding this announcement then please contact Chief of Department Acer Joseph (#9025) via the Helpdesk function.

Kind regards,

Office of the Chiefs of Department
