Isn't g3a3 a sniper and not an assault rifle?

On the chart I was given it was considered an Assault Rifle. Considering it is fully automatic, it isn't really a sniper rifle.

and lets be real, it gets used as an assault rifle

It's still a assault rifle despite it taking sniper ammunition. KAC SR-25 and Springfield M14 for example are a Designated Marksman Rifle/DMR while the G3 is a Assault/Standard Rifle.
