People go because they're inept, nobody should be supporting Turkey while Erdogan is in power because he's a terrible human being.
People just want to relax and have a good time. Nobody does it to support Turkiye, they go on holiday for their own benefit.

Who the fuck cares if it's cheap and cheerful, so are the Balaeric islands and they don't come with the risk of kidnap, rape, terrorism, questionable food hygiene, nor do they support a rhetoric to destroy Ukraine. Erdogan and his puppets tried to block Finland and Sweden's ascension to Nato, they've been blocking aid, delaying resources to aid Putin.
Think about where you want to spend you money before putting forth your selfish cheap holiday.

You’re forgetting something immensely crucial that shuts down this entire argument: Resorts.
The reality is, these countries have many resorts that are isolated from the general population, guarded, and give you almost no reason to, beyond guided tours they offer, leave the resort for the duration of your holiday.
Many countries with political struggles and unsafe environments have been using this system for ages. Take Namibia for example. Namibia is home to many beautiful, isolated and heavily guarded resorts. Whilst it’s not actively a warzone, political and crime oriented violence is very common, and for this reason, private resorts exist.
You could argue that this doesn’t give you the true experience of the country, I’d argue that that’s the whole point.
Same sort of idea Walt Disney world has, where you can have an entire 3 week holiday solely on site there without having to leave except for the airport at the end. Don’t want to deal with Florida crackheads? Go to a resort. Don’t want to deal with political violence, insurgencies and kidnappers in African countries? Resorts.

Turkey is a amazing country for tourism, it's a beautiful with great food and very affordable. Also it's a huge place with like 50 different races, from white gingers to asian looking people, dont miss out on Turkey because you read something on reddit
Yeah and I'm still gonna go back there almost every year. While I don't have the Turkish nationality any more and wouldn't want to live or work there for many reasons there are still nice places in Turkey to spend your holiday. But that's also because we put in a lot of time and effort for our summer house and we wouldn't want it to go to waste.
Reading this does hurt and I'm not sure why you bunch up the whole country with the current state of affairs in politics. The people are the friendliest I've ever met and not a single one of them have they striked a conversation of current political affairs, they keep that shit to themselves even when we have relatives over for tea for hours on end, none of them end up in something debatable. Avoid tourism hotspots and stick to someone that has experience around the country, I believe this should be true for almost any other country, no? Stop reading shit on Reddit.
