Where do you go on vacation

Usually I stay within Denmark, but occasionally I go to other European Countries on roadtrips like Sweden, Germany or France. Going to Poland in October too.

For the longer holidays, I usually only do these every few years, I travel east. My last trip was in 2018 and was to Japan. My next one, likely either next year or 2026 is going to Korea and probably Australia and New Zealand too.

shut up please :)

You’re forgetting something immensely crucial that shuts down this entire argument: Resorts.

The reality is, these countries have many resorts that are isolated from the general population, guarded, and give you almost no reason to, beyond guided tours they offer, leave the resort for the duration of your holiday.

Many countries with political struggles and unsafe environments have been using this system for ages. Take Namibia for example. Namibia is home to many beautiful, isolated and heavily guarded resorts. Whilst it’s not actively a warzone, political and crime oriented violence is very common, and for this reason, private resorts exist.

You could argue that this doesn’t give you the true experience of the country, I’d argue that that’s the whole point.

Same sort of idea Walt Disney world has, where you can have an entire 3 week holiday solely on site there without having to leave except for the airport at the end. Don’t want to deal with Florida crackheads? Go to a resort. Don’t want to deal with political violence, insurgencies and kidnappers in African countries? Resorts.
If you want to spend your entire holiday in a resort go to Butlins its much cheaper, people should visit other countries to experience the culture, see the sights not just sit in a hotel by the pool.

People go because they're inept, nobody should be supporting Turkey while Erdogan is in power because he's a terrible human being.
Hey I went to Turkey 2 weeks ago and it was very nice and i enjoyed it and had fun. Maybe instead of rambling on the forums about a big old nothing burger you should put your effort into actually helping these causes that actually assist Ukraine if you feel so strongly about it.

What is it with everyone visiting these weirdo ex commy countries that are still developing, places like Bosnia are littered with landmines from the 90's and even the capital is just full of commy tower blocks with nothing to see.

also, Turkey?? wtf are you visiting this anti Ukraine shit hole for? Fuck Erdogan, you'll end up being kidnapped and taken to Syria.
Dude, the gov.uk advice website literally says not to even step off a road in Bosnia as you risk being blown up by a mine, go on google maps the place is literally a 3rd world shithole.

I've left the UK plenty of times, I especially enjoy the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento along with Majorca, we'll be out in France and Germany in September. I don't see the appeal of going to a shitty Russian puppet state, Bosniak politicians have made it clear they have sided with Putin over the Ukraine war, fuck them.

Who the fuck cares if it's cheap and cheerful, so are the Balaeric islands and they don't come with the risk of kidnap, rape, terrorism, questionable food hygiene, nor do they support a rhetoric to destroy Ukraine. Erdogan and his puppets tried to block Finland and Sweden's ascension to Nato, they've been blocking aid, delaying resources to aid Putin.

Think about where you want to spend you money before putting forth your selfish cheap holiday.

Personally, I think hamburgers and cheeseburgers work well with fries.
