Hello perpies members,

I'm looking for
help choosing parts for a new gaming PC.

I mainly play competitive FPS games like CS2, Call of Duty, Apex Legends, and Rust, but I also play other games such as Elden Ring and Path of Exile from time to time, and obviously also Garrys mod albeit very rarely these days.

My goal is to get a custom PC where I choose the parts, but I want to order it from a site/company that assembles the PC for me. I’m not interested in buying all the parts and building it myself — I just want to pick the components and have it built for me, and thats where i would like your help if possible.

My budget is around $2000 USD maximum, maybe a bit more if theres something perfect.

What I’m mainly looking for:

  • High FPS performance for competitive shooters
  • Good performance in other modern games as well
  • And that it will last me for years and i wont have to replace it again in the next atleast 3 years hopefully more.
If possible, I’d also appreciate suggestions for good sites/companies that let you pick the parts and then build the PC for you.

Thanks in advance!

If you asked AI to write that post for you then you also could have asked it to create a curated build guide specific to your needs with pricing according to your country, availability and other factors like use case.

I'm not helping with this one, sorry g

With a ~$2000 budget, you can build a very strong high-FPS gaming PC that will easily handle CS2, Apex, Call of Duty, Rust, and still run games like Elden Ring and Path of Exile smoothly for years.
For competitive FPS, the priorities are slightly different than typical “ultra graphics” builds:
Priority order for you
  1. CPU performance (for high FPS and low input latency)
  2. GPU power (especially for Warzone / Apex)
  3. Fast RAM + SSD
  4. Good cooling and upgrade path
Below is a balanced 2026 build that fits your goals very well.

️ Recommended $2000 Competitive FPS Gaming Build

CPU — Ryzen 7 7800X3D

Why this CPU
  • Still one of the best gaming CPUs on the market
  • The 3D V-Cache massively boosts FPS in games like:
    • Counter‑Strike 2
    • Apex Legends
    • Rust
  • Extremely strong 1% lows (smooth gameplay)
Expected competitive FPS with a strong GPU:
  • CS2 → 400–600+ FPS
  • Apex → 200–300+ FPS
  • Warzone → 150–220 FPS

GPU — RTX 4070 Ti Super

Why it's a perfect fit
  • Excellent 1440p high-FPS card
  • 16GB VRAM (good for longevity)
  • Great for modern titles and future games
  • Supports DLSS + Frame Generation
Performance expectations:
1440p high settings
  • Apex: 200+ FPS
  • Warzone: 140–180 FPS
  • Elden Ring: locked 60 FPS (game engine limit)
  • Path of Exile: extremely high FPS

RAM — 32GB DDR5 (6000 CL30)

Recommended spec:
32GB (2×16GB) DDR5-6000 CL30
Examples:
  • G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo
  • Corsair Vengeance DDR5
Why:
  • 32GB prevents future bottlenecks
  • 6000MHz is the sweet spot for AMD AM5 CPUs

Motherboard — B650 or B650E

Good options:
  • MSI B650 Tomahawk
  • ASUS TUF B650-Plus
  • Gigabyte B650 Aorus Elite
These give:
  • PCIe 5 support
  • good VRMs
  • upgrade support for future AMD CPUs

Storage — 2TB NVMe SSD

Example drives:
  • Samsung 990 Pro
  • WD Black SN850X
  • Crucial T500
Why:
  • 2TB fills up fast with modern games
  • These drives are very fast

Cooling — 240mm / 360mm AIO or strong air cooler

Good choices:
  • DeepCool AK620
  • Noctua NH-D15
  • Corsair H100i / H150i
The 7800X3D runs fairly cool, so nothing extreme required.

Power Supply

750W–850W Gold PSU
Examples:
  • Corsair RM850x
  • Seasonic Focus GX-850
  • be quiet! Straight Power 12

Case

Pick something with good airflow
Examples:
  • Lian Li Lancool 216
  • Fractal Pop Air
  • Corsair 4000D Airflow

Approx Price Breakdown

PartPrice
CPU$380–420
GPU$750–820
Motherboard$180–230
RAM$110–140
SSD$120–160
Cooling$70–150
PSU$120–150
Case$90–130
Total: ~$1800–$2050
Perfect for your budget.

Best Websites That Build the PC For You

These let you pick parts and they assemble it.

In the US

NZXT
  • Very clean builder
  • Good quality builds
iBUYPOWER
  • Huge customization
  • Often good deals
CyberPowerPC
  • Usually cheapest
  • Tons of part options
Origin PC
  • High quality
  • More expensive

⚡ If You Want MAX FPS Instead

There is also an alternative GPU choice that competitive players often prefer:
AMD RX 7900 XT
Pros:
  • Slightly more raw FPS
  • 20GB VRAM
Cons:
  • Worse ray tracing
  • No DLSS
But for pure FPS gaming it’s excellent.

Why This Build Will Last 3–5 Years

  • The 7800X3D is still a top gaming CPU
  • 32GB RAM prevents future issues
  • 16GB VRAM GPU
  • AM5 platform supports future CPU upgrades
You could realistically keep this 4–5 years before needing upgrades.

✅ If you'd like, I can also show you:
  • The BEST $2000 gaming build possible right now (slightly stronger than this)
  • Which GPU is better for your exact games (4070 Ti Super vs 7900 XT)
  • The 3 best prebuilt configurators where you’ll get the best price
  • What monitor you should pair with this (1440p 240Hz vs 360Hz) — this actually matters a lot for competitive FPS.

1. Search up "ChatGPT" on google
2. Ask him how to access google
3. Follow the steps
4. Once there, search up your problem.

Hope this helps.

As someone who built there own pc last year, you get so much more value for money, cos you’re not getting fucked over by the companies charging for labour

I am willing to give you my pc.

In this economy buying a pc is horrible.

I've seen some cases where they're selling expensive prebuilt pcs only with integrated graphics, no other gpu...

Buying the parts yourself will save you from that crap and you won't waste money.

Yeah but Ill end up breaking it or doing it wrong, resulting in me having to spend more money going to a place anyway to fix it.
