Short Base Information
Notice SOME of these things has ALREADY been addressed by @exrobite and although I'm aiming to address different issues, as to not go over the same things over and over again I can't fuly avoid it, due to the fact that these issues really has to be solved..
So.. I've really been contemplating it a lot, and I really didn't wanna make this but here it is..
Throughout the months I have been back, and to be honest it's been like this since I came back from my permban last year, but it's become drastically worse the further we get and the newer officers/supervisors/command members we actually get. Throughout the months, I have realised a drastic and problematic behaviour and repeated issues rising within the PD that I feel needs to be properly addressed, rather than "Oh this server is just cop vs robbers! Cops have this! Cops do this! Crims doesn't make it better for PD!" this isn't a server complaint post but a concern specifically on how PD is handled. Let's start with the list below;
Supervisor Laziness
The PD has for a long while had issues with when people reaches certain ranks, they get requirements such as being required to write 2 ORs a month when you're a Corporal or a Sergeant which honestly is NOT a lot to ask for, I understand if you have a job, and even being staff it can be hard to reach the deadlines but it's 40 minutes a month is all they ask ATLEAST. A lot of supervisors DO get on, but can't be bothered to do their OR's and then they are seen asking for people to take OR's from them ONLY at the very end of the month because they didn't feel like wanting to reach their deadline.
Not to speak too much about OR's, lately I have seen struggles with officers requesting warrants on people who commited murder and so on, which supervisors just don't feel like doing cause they rather do their patrols or speak to people instead of taking 30 seconds to issue warrants, especially when needed at that very moment urgently is especially when they don't feel like it, it also counts with DNA when it's required. DNA is something that dissapears after from what I have been told 10 minutes of the person having been dead. In often cases supervisors has blatantly ignored requests for DNA cause they didn't feel like it once again. Now there ARE times where supervisors are busy and that is perfectly fine, but the PD struggles a lot with splitting resources which would help this, WHICH I'll get to in a little bit later in the post.
Supervisor Requests
I think something we are all aware off here and now is supervisor requests being used as a weapon, which has created a burnout for officers to bother doing supervisor sits, but this also becomes problematic especially when there are genuine extremely concerning reports to deal with, which needs to be sorted out urgently. Only a few days ago, somebody made a 911 call about an officer making extremely inappropriate remarks to a 12 year old kid. No supervisor cares or even paid attention to these calls, I took to the incident where the officer immediately fled and the people luckily had the evidence.
I had to spend 5 minutes trying to beg supervisors to respond and even call over the phone personally to them, to no avail whilst there was 3 supervisors on duty, Why was this you ask? BECAUSE NOW EVERY SUPERVISOR SIT APPARENTLY NEEDS EVERY SUPERVISOR ON DUTY TO DEAL WITH 1 SINGLE SUPERVISOR SIT INSTEAD OF SPLITTING RESOURCES. The supervisors on duty was standing 3 guys inside the supervisor room, talking to each others to deal with 1 single officer for 1 small little incident, and after that incident they didn't really bother responding until after I had requested a supervisor multiple times with a message "Urgently" and in a really serious tone, but they just don't care nor bother because they automatically assume "Yeah this supervisor sit is bs and not worth my time" instead of actually figuring out what is going on. Supervisors SHOULD not be allowed in these positions if they can't even be bothered, this even includes command as all these incidents I'm referencing to even got command members around.
Today I was dealing with a suspect, and I was met with another officer trolling around. When the suspect stepped into my car the officer trolling didn't like that and actually started SHOOTING at my car(Keep in mind I was on duty as a cop literally myself), so I responded by stepping out of my car and shooting back at him, as he shot directly at me inside the car. The SUPERVISORS Including one of them being an LT, decided to actually judge me, and told me I was in the wrong, for shooting back at the officer. It's been so mainstream that now you should wait to see if an OFFICER who JUST shot at you, actually intend to shoot you in the face aswell before you can shoot back. Excuse me what? Now no punishment was given to me personally, but the fact supervisors actually expect you to do NOTHING is absolutely outrageous and ridicouless.
Splitting Resources
One thing that is very common to see on this forum, is people complaining(Specifically PD) that crim mains are very difficult for PD to deal with, which yes they ARE HOWEVER, if PD actually played smart this would quite literally not be an issue. Throughout these past couple of days, it's been easy to notice officers SPECIALLY TFU pick and chose who they bother to help and where they feel like going.
Only YESTERDAY I was dealing with an active shootout, we got an officer reporting a raid at lakeview and his life alert shortly after. Shortly after a 911 call was made to Subs 3(?) aswell of a potential raid. Whilst I responded to lakeview with ONE other officer, we stood for 3-4 minutes begging for help, with every single police officer at Subs(3-4 being TFU officers) and when they finished there did they help us? No they were arguing if they had seen drugs so they could proceed to breach the property drugs. ONLY THEN did they decide "Oh hey, maybe we should help these officers at lakeview", when I then commented on it over the radio when they asked if we still needed help and I started "Yes, We've been waiting for TFU the entire time" we were met with attitude as if it was our fault that they didn't wanna split resources when they had finally finished Subs.
How to fix this problem? If a property is done, even if there's thoughts of drugs, considering there was already other supervisors and TFU including bunch of officers, they could have send all the TFU and then let 1 stay at Subs with the other officers to breach for the drugs, and let the other TFU step on down and help, but they decided that wasn't really important they just wanted to be hugging the TFU position.
Communication
Now comes a "fun" one. Communication has always been a problem in PD but today it's at an all time low. Everyday especially at peak there's either TOO much chatter over the radio or none at all, only being a balance with dispatch on, whether people wanna admit it or not. There is Command members and even Supervisors who fail and actually suck to communicate or even listen to radio even more than a freshly baked new player cop. They simply mute their radio and just drive around minding themselves, even when there's no chatter over the radio at all(Relevant because they don't mute due to radio chaos, they just cba), or they just don't feel like communicating or even assisting when you ask for backup.
Plenty of times I have been on duty where NOTHING is happening, then when there's a mugging, raid or a simple car pursuit officers go around trolling and minging around social areas without bothering to assist or help in ANY way, or they simply ignore the radio. With all these issues there is literally no hope to fix anything or change anything. Please just take a read and a look and think over at the very least SOME of the things, as these are genuine problems that shouldn't be as huge as they are.
TL;DR Below(Which I got ChatGPT to make for me, just to make it easier to understand than my shit grammar above);
The post argues that the Police Department's biggest problems are internal leadership and organization rather than criminals. It claims supervisors are often lazy, ignore warrants and DNA requests, misuse supervisor sits, fail to respond to serious incidents, make questionable decisions, refuse to split resources during emergencies, and communicate poorly. The result is officer burnout, slower responses, and a department that performs far below its potential despite having enough personnel. The author believes these issues need to be addressed through better leadership, accountability, and coordination instead of blaming the server's "cops vs. robbers" dynamic.
With that being said, thank you for reading my long ass rant, it's been a long time coming and I've been dreading it because I generally hate these kinds of posts, I think they are unproductive but I needed to get it out for once. I'm sure there's bad grammar too, so I'm sorry in advance.
