Read through tons on this thread - truthfully I haven't RP'd as an Officer in a long time, before V6 actually. However I agree with the various comments about CivRP too. I do believe most of us are at fault for it, small minor inconveniences that we overlook as PD won't take the time to resolve them anymore - hence leading to complaciency on both ends, a double edged sword really.

Things like running lights, stop signs or driving over a crossing whilst someone is making their way over used to get me pulled over a couple of years back... Now? Officers just drive past. I miss the quality of competent and dedicated officers, hopefully with some internal changes/discussions they can steer things back to a positive place.

Maybe some sort of acknowledgement for doing different duties whilst employed with the PD would help, emphases on traffic stops, patrols etc.

Yeah most cops don't bother with traffic stops anymore, it's just not worth the hassle. @Caveric Jonson still does it, but try asking the hassle he often has to deal with, I tend to here and there too if I'm not doing anything else.

Just as much as PD try, CIV's can and will be inpatient and rude as they see it as 'pointless'. Unfortunate, really.

Honestly the idea of being arrested for being on the phone is ridicouless. I was planning a bank robbery(Luckily we never got it started), but we were planning it lmao. And this fucker @Caveric Jonson decided to pull my friend over for this reason, and he got arrested lmao. Then I got irritated cause we had plans and went up chatting shit to him whilst holding my phone too and I got send to jail aswell it was actually funny asf when I think of it now. But yeah the whole phone thing in this game is just dumb, especially if you get raided etc and need to go help your base and then you get fucking pulled over for chatting with your distressed org members etc lol.

Or if you need a GPS... Because you need direction(For people who don't know about showgps in console) or just don't want that bigass menu blocking the screen etc.

People are expecting PLPD to be playing to a level of seriousness rivaling that of HL2RP/1942RP, but on a gamemode which is only a rung above DarkRP in terms of cops n' robbers.
Personally, I don't think the solution to PLPD's issues are going to come from ORs, IAs, ect.

In all fairness, that was something that was getting abused and already got fixed, you can no longer be arrested for such actions.

I feel like I’m the only officer that does traffic stops religiously. I’m in traffic so I’m always out and about doing that. Quite a few people are assholes about it for no reason

no regrets at all. I got a lot of drugs and guns off the street. You got lucky unlike the one dude I stopped who had a vault cracker on him lol. Him and his friends were not amused in the slightest about it. I still stop for cell phone just a shame it isn’t an arrest able offense anymore. It was a good crime prevention tactic but you know crim mains don’t like being outplayed so it’s gone now

I will say I’ve come to just ignoring most shootouts as it just frankly isn’t worth my time. I get on the server to play the game not sit in a black screen for more then half the time I’m on the server. People always like to cry “Oh ThE pLPd Is ThE iSsUe” but don’t realize how truly miserable and underpowered the PLPD actually is most days. If you got 15 cops getting whacked by 2 to 3 dudes nonstop that clearly screams PD not OP but no one cares they want their PVP fix in the easiest way possible that’s why they play perp and not other games because they would probably get their shit rocked nonstop. Nothing is ever gonna change so I’m gonna keep doing what I do. I’m gonna keep ignoring most shootouts and continue doing my traffic enforcement work every single time I’m on duty. I just had a wonderful OR with someone a few days ago where we consistently did traffic enforcement and I was actually able to teach him PD instead of running headfirst into shootouts nonstop being unable to actually train him.

Also, if I had the patience for it I would probably do some normal policing myself but I have ADHD something needs to happen constantly.

But is this not the very thing that makes people hate the PD? Going to jail for talking on the phone with someone would not even happen in real life, so it made zero sense. It doesnt even add any RP to the situation, since now you just have to get dragged in to a cell. Also, getting a 10k ticket and 10 year sentence, even after complying just makes you mad, since the cop arresting you actually didnt gain anything from it.

Unfortunately for you paralake isn’t based in California and law enforcement actually does stuff here. If you commit a crime expect to be caught and punished. If you don’t want a punishment then don’t do it again quite a simple concept to understand.
