Suggestion Topic: 3.8 Elaborate Construction
Suggestion Description: Don't Allow PD to block Lobby with Barricades
This is done literally every time 10 toes is called and PD raiding is already cop sided. This is litterally elaborate construction its just not enforced by any staff as the PD handbook condones it.
Why should this be added?:
-  Crims aren't allowed to force raiders to jump over a barricade to enter their base, why should cops be able to do it especially when lobby is already a death trap.

What negatives could this have?:
- None as raiding PD is already cancer and you need a zerg to win it

This nonsense is so annoying, you jump over this and you are met with potential cops in lobby, or upstairs peaking you through the window all while you're mid jump. Then you still have to crowbar open the door in this death trap which you now cant even run out of.

The image you are seeing here, is already not allowed by policy.
Police must allow a gap for civilians to enter the PD to go on-duty if they wish to do so, the civilian(s) just have to consent to a search, or surrender beforehand

Staff still don't enforce it like this, this is a rule suggestion not a policy suggestion

They shouldn't be locking down PD without a SGT+ approving it

Or an TFO+

But yes they are allowed to do it but they do it wrong

Barricades are also more susceptible to being pushed around by others which might become a nightmare if someone picks them up and arranges them to be in a way found to be breaking the rules which can get you into trouble.

I think the current handbook implementation works but some guidelines in the rules would also be good.

Or do you rather see this as an enforcement problem?

Honestly a bit of both, cops are under educated on the matter and I've never seen anyone (supervisors) correct them. However also staff very clearly also don't care as this is constantly done.

I disagree entirely that this provides an advantage for cops, forcing cops (typically TFU,) to man the barricade leaves them able to be shot from a 180 degree cone. It might be annoying to traverse depending on the setup but this does not make up for the fact that the people at the barricade are an easy snipe.

It's in the handbook that it's supposed to be set up like this :

They just have to be more strict on placing them correctly
This is all I'm asking for. This is a good setup, just in my experience its usually a silly pistol cop setting it up so he does a square you have to jump over and no TFU is even at the barricade.

If staff and supervisors just instruct people to do this rather than the cancer setup I usually see, (photographed above) that would be elite.

Technically, like others already said, this should already not be happening. Unfortunately, with the frequency of PD raids currently, many players are going beyond what the policies line out as criteria for when a PD lockdown should be enforced. Even more unfortunately, not many supervisors/command members/Incident commanders question or counter these lockdowns, resulting in them being enforced more frequently and not according to policy.

Sadly, I don't currently have any solution to this other than stopping these instances from happening and informing officers about when and how to enact a lockdown. If server staff were to also enforce the building of these barricades, I think the vast majority of these issues would already be solved.

The policy is very clear on this. Entry into the PD lobby may not be fully restricted by physical means under any circumstances. The picture in the policy is a perfect example and is the only way this should be done. Consequently, this also means that officers must man the barricades, as they are required to get civilians who wish to enter (for example in order to go on duty) to surrender or submit to a search for weapons. Fully blocking the entrance with barricades is explicitly not the intent of a PD lockdown and very much not encouraged by PD or server SMT as it only leads to further issues.

Correct. With the frequency of PD raids over the past few months, it is very understandable why these things keep happening, especially if nobody speaks up when concerns arise. This is why I have sent out a reminder to all supervisors about this ~1 month ago. Clearly this has not yet had the desired effect, as such I'll be looking into further means to sensitising supervisors even more to the guidelines of when and how to properly set up a lockdown.
