Is this a new law or a change to a current law: Change
What law do you wish to change/add:
Drivers of vehicles Road users must drive act in accordance with road markings and signage.
Infraction - liable to $1,000 maximum fine.
Why should this change/addition be made:
Certain signage in the map and listed under section 12.15 is directed towards pedestrians, which I just found out this law may technically not cover. To ease any concerns, vehicle-specific signs in 12.15 clearly specify a “driver” or “vehicle” so would not suddenly become applicable to pedestrians with this change (except for the turning movements signs which would simply need an additional few words before the description).
What is the aim of this change/addition:
To remove a potential loophole in the law which is likely unintended as the relevant signage is listed under 12.15, also future proof for additional signage
