I think it would be helpful if firefighters had a tool that could be used to identify the cause of a fire. Perhaps this could work similar to how the med kits work for healing, where for a short time in the area a fire was, there could be markers the click on to "investigate" the cause of the fire. Once all points have been investigated, the cause of the fire is known! Whether it be accidental, the result of a car bomb or a Molotov, etc.
I feel being able to get this information could give way to extra roleplay opportunities. For example, if there are repeated fire in the business district, and all are identified as being caused by a Molotov cocktail, police may organise extra patrols in that area to try and catch the person responsible.
This could also be tied into the firefighter levelling system, for example locking identification behind a certain rank, or making it quicker/more likely to work with more experience.
