I would recommend searching on steam or community for guides on good autoexc to get your fps higher, also remember to switch your game to 64 bits.

Change to 64 bit: Go to your properties tab by right clicking on your game in steam, press betas and choose x86-64 chromium.

I would recommend checking this here though, just asked my friend and he has fine peformance on perpheads.
This should also improve your stability from what i've read, i personally dont use this but as said my friend does.

Im just suggesting this, im not the smartest garrys mod guy but you can just read it through or give it a try.
