As a Courier, how can I leave packages at peoples doors if they're not home?

I was basing earlier and ordered a package, when I got a text (I was well out of reach for the courier to drop the package for me outside the door) and the text said something like "your package has been delivered at your door" and by the time I opened the door, the courier was gone. I don't know how he did it but I want to so that when I play courier I can do it lol. How?

I'm pretty sure this only works if the player is inside. If they aren't home at all, it won't allow you to put it there.

Go back to your transit van, drop the package beside it - then drag the package with fists up to the owners home/door, you can then safely leave and when the player is back he can simply pick it up (At least from what i remember)

If the player isn't home and you have waited quite some time you can place it back in the van, then cancel it at the PPS warehouse by getting back out of your van and, while holding it, talk to the NPC to cancel it. Downside to this, you won't get payment

I believe that you can place them down next to the door or by clicking on the door itself. I have done this in the past when home owners were in fact not home due to them being killed in a recent raid. They can then pick them up when they return.

Ofcourse, the player ordering must own the property though, and not be a co-occupant.
