I’m a new player, so please forgive me if I’ve made any mistakes. I’ve read the server rules thoroughly but I’d like to address the accusations against me related to rules 2.5, 3.4, and 3.12.

Context:

I joined the server to work as a taxi driver, a role I’ve been playing for the past two days. The mayor had recently imposed restrictions on job positions, including reducing the salaries for various roles, including the PD. The mayor admitted he was new to the job, This led to a situation where people couldn’t earn money legally and were pushed towards crime. He reduced pay for almost all jobs apart from his own, which he maxxed out to $280, He mostly sat AFK in the server and didn't in my opinion fulfil the job of the mayor, to me it looked like he just stood around for pretty much the entirety of the time he was mayor.

Anyway, I approached the mayor at City Hall to request an increase in job positions and a better salary for these roles. Despite my RP efforts to highlight the negative impacts of his policies, the mayor refused to make any changes. I left, and then 10-15 minutes later I returned, asking again, this went back and forwards 3-4 times over 40 or so minutes, I grew frustrated and expressed my dissatisfaction in RP. Eventually, after being told repeatedly to leave and seeing no changes, I made the decision to shoot the mayor.

Regarding the Rules:

2.5 Excessive Negativity:
I felt that the mayor’s actions created a negative environment for me and others, pushing players toward crime due to insufficient job opportunities and low salaries.

3.4 Putting Your Life at Risk:
I defended myself against two police officers who were responding to my violent crime. I understand this could justify their use of lethal force.

3.12 Mayoral Assassination:
The assassination was a result of my frustration with the mayor’s policies, which I felt were harmful to the city and my job prospects. Despite multiple attempts to address the issue with him, no changes were made. The mayor’s policies were discriminatory to working people and harmful, leading me to take drastic action.

I’m aware that the mayor is an administrator, and I find it concerning that this might have created a unfair conflict of interest. However, I believe my actions were justified given the circumstances.

I apologize if my actions were against the rules or if I’ve misunderstood them. I’m still learning and hope to continue contributing positively to the server.

1) Did you threaten the mayor in any way shape or form that if they didn't change the taxes or job slots that there would be consequences? I only see that you made one advert that doesn't address any of your character's concerns and didn't make any "threats" towards the mayor

2) What part of the mayor's policies affected YOU as an individual and caused you to kill the mayor in the first place?

3) Did the mayor discriminate or impact you in any way that would make it justified to kill the mayor and risk getting yourself a 10 years, 10k punishment or even death?

I would like to give a statement on the situation and explain everything I can remember that happened.
Once I became Mayor, I had set the Salaries for EMS, FF and PD to be higher than the Default ones, I set the rest of the jobs to their lowest salaries and job slots as they weren't as important (Taxi). I had set Sales tax to 1% and only activated two policies which were Advanced Training (Gives 2X XP to most jobs) and High Property Tarifs.
I was never AFK during my entire time as Mayor, apart from the time where I had to quickly make a restroom break, during the rest of my Mayoral Term, I had mostly walked around the PD area speaking to a lot of people, making conversations with them while also doing my duties as the Server Helper, I didn't really have much to do as Mayor other than speak to people. You approached me and expressed your feelings to me and how I was running the city, requesting more pay and slots for jobs, to which I agreed to and boosted them up a bit, apart from the taxi one. I lower the less important jobs salary and slots to have a smoother budget flow to the city. Afterwards you once again told me that you were unhappy with how I was running the city and wanted more slots, to which I disagreed as I believed that there were a perfectly balanced amount of slots for all jobs apart from Taxi. You asked me about why there's only 1 slot for taxi, I forgot really what happened after that, I believe you tried to talk to me to which I wasn't budging, as I was trying to speak to others instead. Later when we were at the Police Department, I didn't address you as I was listening to what the Roadcrew was asking me, then as you were still trying to talk to me, I kept looking at the roadcrew and laughing at them as they pit a random cop car, then I turned around and faced you and your shotgun. Before I could say anything, I had been blasted and finished off.

I don't believe ever saying that I was new to the job.
I had never reduced salaries for PD, You claimed that it was terrible or so, even though it was at 150$ salary.
I can't really change my own pay at all and besides 280$ salary isn't that great for Mayor.
Only negative-Ish policy I activated is the High property tarifs, the other one was to help certain jobs reach their next ranks faster (EMS, FF, Courier, etc) with 1.5 XP Boost.
I don't believe that I've ever told you to leave. The first time you requested changes to these jobs, I complied and added more slots to EMS, FF and RC, including their salary.
The rest of the times, I disagreed because I didn't believe it was needed and would just slow down City Income unnecessarily. I thought the changes I made were good enough for now.

1) Under roleplay ofcourse I stated to him that I didn't want to resort to crime to make money (Which I actually havent grown any drugs on the server yet), But anyway, yes I told him 2 times that If he didnt make drastic changes that his life would potentially be in danger, I did also make atleast 4 attempts within 40 minutes to ask him to change the job limits and salaries, also regarding the adverts, the advert was made in an attempt to gain agreement and acknowledgement, Another player even interacted with chris and said basically the same exact thing as I said, except he was complaining how no one could become medic and that the salary was way too low, now ofcourse like in real llife you wouldn't want to directly threaten officials, so I assumed I should follow the same general rule.
2) The mayors policies effectively severly limited people from becoming medic, taxi, roadcrew, ruined the wages for those jobs, including PD, now I understand OOC that the salaries aren't really that amazing, but under RP and especially in real life if your jobs salary was cut by half you would understandably be annoyed about this, While dropping the salaries and positions for jobs he still decided to give himself a $280 salary, he didn't seem to be engaging with the community, and effectively just sat around PD chit chatting to random individuals.
3) As stated, he impacted me by the aforementioned things I stated above, and his attitude towards actually being a mayor felt pretty boring and uninterested about actually playing the role, (Or in this case in RP terms being the elected mayor)

Personally as a side note I honestly think he was just playing the role of mayor for the salary, this could be just entirely assumptions and has nothing to do with why I killed him, but its an afterthought upon making this thread.

I'm sorry If I did actually break any rules, and I hope that you and Chris understand that it was nothing personal, I just don't see how this situation could be any different from a real life situation.

I understand that, but I really don't think it needs to be this deep, I just think it was a little unfair and unjustified for why I received a 1 day ban considering I met all of the rules requirements, me and atleast 3 other people openly expressed disagreement for your policies, and like in real life, some people as a result no longer want you as the elected mayor.

You killed the player because you didn't like how he was handling jobs, negatively impacting his RP experience. This is not a valid reason to kill the mayor in my eyes and I do not believe measures have been taken to resolve the situation appropriately

No, as I said and I'll say it again, As stated, he impacted me by the aforementioned things I stated above, the additional text was something that I later added in near the bottom of the post, unrelated to my reasoning, I just forgot to remove it because I rewrote it at the bottom, hence why I mentioned it twice like I didn't bring it up, so my bad about that.

Also, He was objectively not a good mayor, I'm not really sure why this needs to be disected to an infinite length, But I'll say it again, he ran for mayor, got elected, trashed all of the jobs for people to work, slashed the salaries on various jobs, and when I approached him to ask him to allow more jobs he just told me that it wasnt going to happen, "We don't need this we don't need that" "Its not going to change".

I only got a 10 year sentence and a 10k ticket because the officer decided to give it to me, There was definately a bias atleast from the officer to arrested me and took me to the jail because of the fact it was chris, and you can review the demo if you like, I only shot at the police because as it states in the rules but there was 100% a bias because he is a known "helper", which is probably why I got the max fine and sentence, even though I was entirely compliant after being shot.

Also, it literally states in the rule 3.4 that a valid reason to kill police officers includes:
Committing a violent crime police would reasonably use lethal force to apprehend you for.

Which means, me being approached by police from what I believed to be both sides of the underpass clearly creates a valid reason for me "defending" myself.

Killing the mayor over not having enough taxi spots is not a good enough reason to kill the mayor. Even so killing him infront if PD infront of cops in that manner is also 3.4
