Why should this appeal be considered?: I've never been held hostage as an officer before and only have had it happen once as a civilian, I wasn't sure what to do in the situation as well as believed I was just going to die unless I try and kill him first, you know when someone points a gun at my head when I am trying to apprehend them my first thought isn't to just stand there and put my hands up, so I moved and took my gun out which is when he said to put my hands up, but I already upholstered my weapon which led to him trying to kill me, therefore I shot back, he also didn't die to 4 shots which is the one of the reasons why I died there, I also didn't shoot my last bullet at him as I was going to request for him to put his hands up.
Everything happened too fast as it does and I didn't know how to properly react so I apologise for not doing something I should have. As I said, I believed in that moment that I was going to get killed and not just gun pointed.
Also as you could tell, I was pretty confused on why a suspect would return to a crime scene 3 mins after committing murder and burglary so I didn't think it was him at first therefore I didn't gunpoint but had went straight for apprehension just so I can double check, sounds stupid I know but was tired and was looking to head off.
Additional Information: I don't think the person should have returned there in the first place as it put their own life endanger unnecessarily, hence why I was so visibly confused. I would love to be unbanned as it slows down being able to become a senior officer and looks very bad on my record. (Sorry for yapping so much, it is just slightly frustrating especially when I was looking forward to hopping on after work lmfao). Thank you.
