Bioshock series, old but gold, one of the best story games.

İf you didn't played rdr2, then you need to play rdr2, no need to talk anything more.

Katana zero, a great short indie game, a bit hard but great.

Hitman absulation, nice game.

Papers please, you need to play this, great story with choices along the story.

If you never tried it, with no doubts, watch dogs 1. Amazing game with a 10/10 story, along with futuristic things, and being an open world style game like GTA.

Detroit: Become Human. If you haven't played it, its a must-play. Multiple stories, multiple outcomes, choices, and choices also affect other stories to a degree. One of the best story games I've ever played.

Detroit become human, watch dogs series, especially the first one. And sleeping dogs.

I recently picked up Cyberpunk 2077 again as I haven't finished the DLC but it's pretty worth it and adds a lot of content. Even better with visual mods and path tracing looks crazy in this game. It has its quirks but the story is pretty followable and engaging especially the DLC.
Johnny Silverhand alone also makes it 10/10.

Crysis Remastered series, doesn't really have the best story but great if you want to experience the format of older games where it goes "go here, push a button, kill soldiers, epic cutscene, next level".
Directed by a Turkish person btw.

Titanfall 2 is older but holds up really well. Did not expect funny BT-7274 robot game to have good story telling.

Borderlands 1 and 2 are also really fun if you want something more RPG focused and want to build a character. Borderlands 3 and anything after is ehh, not the best story but Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is a nice standalone game that holds up on its own.

  • Cyberpunk 2077 main story and especially the DLC story left me staring at the screen in awe after I finished the last quest. I couldn't believe it was that good, I had to get up and collect myself.
    • The mocap scenarios & action scenes, the writing, voice acting, char builds, graphics,
  • Horizon Zero Dawn main story and gameplay was also extremely good (starting Forbidden West rn)
    • Crazy graphics, good story with a twist, really good combat
  • Spider-Man 2's main story and gameplay (I think you already played this) was like 50 notches above Spider-Man 1 and Miles Morales for me which completely surprised me
    • Only cared about the story and swinging which were all great. Graphics were also ridiculous.
  • AC Odyssey mentioned above is the best AC I've ever played and I've finished every single one. 152 hours for me to part ways with it.
    • Great graphics, views, story, amazing DLC, best combat by far with the RPG abilities, etc.
  • Ghost of Tsushima was going great but got too busy before I could finish
    • Most immersive game of its kind that I've played
  • Hogwarts Legacy was a nice lil quick one and done, good nostalgia, good gameplay.
    • Managed to make a game that was pure nostalgia for me not trash and true to the books/movies
  • Witcher 3 you can't go wrong with if you've never played it
    • Everything about this game is good, list would be too long
  • Any of the Rocksteady Batman games you can't die without beating
    • If you like Marvel/DC comics, I doubt there is any other super hero game in existence that out does the Batman games from this studio

I have a lot more but these are the most recent I can think of. Out of that list, Cyberpunk is the undisputed #1 for me currently, that DLC is ridiculous.

Titanfall 2 - Banger story one of the only games i have gone back to replay like 10 times, Movement system is legendary, Guns are just amazing aswell, Story while basic is really good.

Watch dog's - While past its prime I love the story of that game, Hacking macanics are basic but the gunplay and going gang hidouts making people explode because they have granades out in public still one of my favorate things

Doom / doom eternal - If you want a game to turn your mind off the story is good not great but its serviceable, paired with the music from god himself i do recommend

Star wars jedi games (Both of them) They both have banger storys, if your into star wars you will like them, Cal is a good charater, Lightsaber combat is great, Story is actully made with care

Ghosts of Tsushima - Loved the story, Loved the gameplay being a samuri and watching you go from tiny hero to the bane of everyones existence in the shadows stalking mongals i highly recommend

Hitman world of assasination - unironiclly like hitman now because of that game, Take out people how you wish, loud or stealth, Story is serviceable aswell you get to know agent 47

"This bed we made" - mystery & story & adventure, quite cool imo
L.A. Noire - Made by rockstar, amazing game :P
And Shadows of Doubt is also a very good game, not exactly story based but still very enjoyable
Green Hell is also very nice, story & survival

You should play Star Wars: The Force Unleashed because it lets you experience the Star Wars universe from the perspective of Darth Vader’s secret apprentice, Starkiller. The game gives you powerful Force abilities like lightning, telekinesis, and lightsaber combat, letting you wreak havoc in creative ways. The story is dramatic and explores an alternate take on the origins of the Rebel Alliance. It's action-packed, cinematic, and offers a satisfying power fantasy for Star Wars fans.

You should play Ryse: Son of Rome because it delivers a visually stunning, story-driven experience set in ancient Rome. You play as a Roman soldier named Marius seeking revenge while rising through the ranks of the Roman army. The game features brutal, cinematic melee combat with smooth execution sequences. Although the gameplay is linear, it’s tightly focused, with a strong narrative and intense battles that make it a memorable short campaign.
