Can't get on the server.

I just got my steam machine today and I've been trying to get onto the server. I have all the content but I just get stuck on this screen then Garry's Mod closes.

I might be stupid I'm gonna try the x86-64 branch and see if that fixes it.. (Edit: didn't work)

Is the game set to use Proton? Should be under compatibility in the game properties in steam. Force it to use a compatibility tool the try like Proton 9.

The native Linux version of GMod isn't great.
