Poll says all.

Not including carpaccio or Tartare, as those are no longer steak form.

I can respect almost anything, except well done. That's just fucking wrong.

Medium rare is the correct answer though.

medium rare is the only correct answer. rare and medium are tolerable but anything outside that is just... no.
also, anyone who says well done is a psychopath. you like your steak rubbery, dry and tasteless? sounds like a car tyre to me.

To be fair there are ways a well done steak can be great, it’s just very convoluted compared to just grilling it and why bother with a well done that takes relatively long to cook when you can just grill a rare? Requires basting to pull off too, which is not very healthy.

anyone who chooses ANYTHING rare, needs to go get a mental evaluation immediately.

im talking about you @Maia @Bnjemann @kasperr @lencz

Really bold claim, are you gonna back it up as to why you feel this way?

What's the difference between pittsburgh rare and blue rare @Bnjemann ?
Pittsburgh rare is blue rare but you char the outside more than a blue rare. Think it’s done by exposing it to more heat quicker rather than just searing the outside.

The difference between these two are that one of them are seared at high heat in a pan, and as can be seen on the other one (the blue rare) has been grilled rather than seared as it's got grill marks, but let's be real, who would eat a blue rare steak? Medium rare is perfect, no arguing, but blue rare is essentially raw, might as well make a tartare out of it instead at that point.
