Description of the idea:
Make the "Fire axe" item a craft-able weapon.
The fire axe civilians have should be different to the one the fire men have, just like how the firefighters extinguisher is different to the main one.
The fire axe should serve the following functions:
- As a slow, but powerful, melee weapon.
- Maybe it can be used to break down doors just like the fire mans axe does, but without the restrictions firemen have? (Although with a very low success rate)
The fire axe should cost significantly more to craft than other melee weapons due to its functionality. It should be non concealable and should show up on a players back. For balancing reasons maybe it could take the primary weapon slot?
Why should this be added? (pros):
- Very realistic, significant amounts of violent crime, such as home invasions, murders, assaults, robberies, etc. Involve a perpetrator armed with an axe
- More dynamics to gameplay styles
- The model, animations, and the item in general is already in the game, cutting corners on development work significantly.
What negatives could this have? (cons):
- Door breaching function, if implemented, could basically just serve as infinite crowbar (until they die and drop it ofc)
- Testing and development time for the civilian version could possibly hinder other projects?
