Mostly goes like this for me:
Person who just loves to speed and evades cops like no other=We try to stop the car via non-lethal methods (spikes), resorting to ramming the vehicle next if all other means are exhausted. Gun pointing is still mostly used in this scenario but only once the vehicle is stopped in order to stop the person from running off, if you ever battering rammed someone out of their vehicle they will always make a run for it for whatever reason and just increase their sentence.
Person who loves to speed and put others in danger with excessive reckless driving which also includes driving on the wrong side of the highway=We use lethal force on the car, aiming for the engine but most preferably the tires since we're able to instantly pop them now. Here we make use of gunpoint to make sure the person doesn't run off, if they do they can be a further threat to someone's life by trying to get out of sight and pull something funny out of their pockets. Innocents bystanders may catch a bullet in the process which is why LEO's need to be careful when resorting to this method.
Those who constantly evade cops should be prepared (and also know) how most cops already turn to more lethal options in order to stop you. By gun pointing you can basically put a stop to this endless traffic chase nonsense.
And please, stop running off in the future when you're being battering rammed out. You're making it worse for yourself. You can (and will be) seen as an active threat no matter what you do.
