Freezing Upon starting up

My gmod freezes when I start up gmod , It takes a couple of try's but eventually it'll work and I can play? Any fixes?

Is this during the blue screen which loads up all the stuff and the green bar in the middle?

Unsubscribe from all addons on the workshop then delete all files within addons. (garysmod/addons) Then download what you only need.

I hate to say it, but If you've not tried to re-install the game it's normally the main fix to most Garry's mod problems. Also, Do you mean your game crashes or does it freeze for a bit then start working after?

Try to verify your cache, do so by right clicking the game in the library > properties then across to local files and verify integrity of game cache
