Im soon getting a new PC hopefully
my friend who uses a I5-7500 is getting a new CPU and asked me if i would have his I5 for free because he knows i have a problem with money and i cant play games and when i can play a game i lag at it. (He gives me it with a cooler aswell he uses rn maybe)

And another friend is getting himself a GTX 1080 and he is giving me his GTX 770 TI for free

so and because im a broke noob i looked for a mainboard/motherboard wich supports DDR3 so i dont have to buy new ram because i already have 8 GB RAM and i found these two

so and i see people suggesting people to get a I5-6600. So my question is what is better the one i am getting or a I5-6600 ?

and whats the difference between DDR4 and DDR3 i guess that DDR4 performes better ? right ? all i know is that DDR thingys have different slots

mainboard
why

it will all depend on the CPU your friend is gonna give you. You really don't need DDR4 unless you wish to do some heavy fucking shit, 8+ gigs of ddr3 will run fine along an i5 and a 770ti

also go with a proper brand motherboard because the capacitors on cheap ones die out fast(er)

Also the socket of said CPU would be useful, but i'd recommend this if the socket is 1150
