Hi everyone I’m currently in the hospital awaiting surgery tomorrow to remove my gallbladder as it’s been giving me hell for the past month now. I was wondering if anyone who went through it has some good food suggestions as I have to eat differently for a bit afterwards

Hope everything goes well! When it comes to diet and restrictions, I’d recommend avoiding fatty or oily foods for the first few days to relieve the pressure on your intestines due to the bile (nasty I know, sorry lmao)

Add more fibers and cut down on the caffeine if you can. It's nothing bad if you don't follow the advice, but it will ease you in your recovery. Good luck!!

Stick to the low fat diet that your doctor should have recommended to you. Also I recommend avoiding foods that are quite acidic as I found that was something that used to set me off, like onions. The gallbladder's role in the body is to store bile and concentrate it to help the body break down and absorb fats hence the low fat diet recommendation.

(Ellie beat me to the reply as I was typing lmao)

Taste shit, but have all nutrients you need and are extremely good for your gut.
Had to drink them for 6 weeks due to having Crohn's disease and having high activity in my gut

Thanks everyone I appreciate it. I’m currently laying in a hospital bed just trying to relax and taking it easy
I recommend asking real doctors and not the perpheads community.

Hope all goes well!
i have I also figured to get different opinions on what foods worked better then others for people. I’ve been in throbbing pain for a month now wanted to know what foods in my allowed to eat worked better then others
