Suggestion Title: Increase punishment severity of hostage sits
Suggestion Description: Making the punishment for it more intimidating so that people are not as careless about sabotaging actual roleplay.
Why should this be added?:
- Deter rule-breaks
- Take back the right of all the people who suffer from the stupidity of a rulebreak in this exceptionally detrimental case.
- Allow players to feel more comfortable on both sides in roleplaying what should be incentivized
- Allow people to make crime more nuanced and be creative
- Impartial enforcement is the essence of enforcing a harsher treatment to rulebreaks. Everyone wins here, except a rule-breaker.
What negatives could this have?:
- Newer players would be prone to making silly mistakes and ruin the RP for everyone. Leaving the staff to consolidate between a harsh punishment or a lesser punishment.
- Does not entirely address all the grievances of people regarding the desire for better hostage sits
What problem would this suggestion solve?: Hostage sits require the right time and the right places done by some of us who actually want to roleplay. This is not your average rdm, or some player mugging in public.
People lose more than items here.
The event involves a big portion, if not the whole PD + an organization + a hostage + EMS + Staff oversight all ruined by one dummy who breaks rules.
Time, items, money, potential enjoyment, memorability, and more is wasted.
RP like hostage sits has been desired by the community for a while, and I know that regulation to enforce a level of standard for it to deter wrong is at least a step in the right direction.
