I know asking about sports on perpheads is quite a stretch, but the gym thread did prove we aren't all just fat fucks so i'm gonna ask anyway.
I've mostly ridden racing bicycles but I want to get into mountainbiking. I've already got a carrier for my car and I've got some trips planned where I could do some great offroading. I also want to use it for commuting, as i live by the coast and I can commute to work trough hilly and bumpy dunes.
I really like CUBE bikes' design and picked two models,

Cube Attention SLX
+ Air shocks
+ Sram shifter and drivetrain

Cube AIM SLX Allroad
+ Shimano 11speed
- coil shocks
+ Comes with a Dynamo hub which i do prefer, i don't like a battery light setup.
I can't really decide between these two because of the shocks mainly, i have no idea what the difference between them are and the site only mentions air is 'better' which feels like an up-sell trick. I don't mind the rear carrier and I'll probably remove the mudguards if they come with them.
i did look at the full specs in a comparison but all this is gibberish to me. Any recommendations and tips for what i should keep in mind? I have a budget of around 1,500 ish including gear, lights stuff like that.
