Description of the idea:
Allowing the M16 to accept the S&B PM2 and MK.ii scopes.
A true reason to ever use an M16 over other 5.56 rifles other than cost would be to allow them to take the long Range scopes.
The US marines take surplus M16’s and modify there trigger grouping to be locked to semi, then they slap a long range scope on it to be used as a light anti infantry DMR. Alongside this, a popular American sports and hunting rifle setup is an AR15 with a long barrel and a long range scope in order to do long distance shooting. The closest thing to AR15’s we currently have on PERP are the military variants.
I know what you’re thinking. “But benji, they already accept zeniths” yeah but shut the fuck up, all rifles except the AK74u take zeniths. The ability to have a longer range scope on just the M16 would give people more incentive to actually use it.
Why should this be added? (pros):
- More incentive to use the M16
- Would give poorer players a faster firing but lower damage alternative to the M24
What negatives could this have? (cons):
- if the scope doesn’t fit and clips into the model then devs would have to model a mount for the rifle.
