Suggestion Title: Moderation of the quality of scenarios within reason.
Suggestion Description: I think it would be beneficial to add some rules regarding the quality and effort exerted in roleplay scenarios.

Why should this be added?:
- Some people just don't try, or they only want money for the jobs actions, are lazy in their effort to make the situation more engaging, this can degrade the server experience when it happens repeatedly

- I've been a part of and have witnessed many needless dramas over low quality scenarios upsetting people this would help clear that up

- A basic modicum of quality control would help overall enhance the immersion and experience, therefore helping server livelihood and activity.

- It just isn't fun to roleplay with someone who isn't trying or just wants money from the job and nothing else, ESPECIALLY when its someone who can do actions on you against your will, such as PD or SS.

What negatives could this have?:
-  Even I have my own regards in what can be easily misconstrued as an overreach of telling people how to roleplay

- The definition of "Quality Roleplay" seems very subjective, what may impress me, may not impress you and vice versa, it may be hard to determine what exactly makes a good quality scenario.

- This could have a negative effect on people who simply lack the ability to roleplay at higher more immersed level.

What problem would this suggestion solve?: I believe it would help to diminish drama sparked over low effort or lazy actions in roleplay scenarios, help to cut out the types who are just in it for a grind and don't want to roleplay. and overall help enhance the immersion of the server as well as living up to the "Serious Roleplaying Server" in your loading screen. Too many people treat this like an fps.

if we have to police people to engage in roleplay all this server will become is a hl2rp style boring circlejerk of "quality" rp

it will reach the point where we have to purposely miss shots in shootouts to preserve rp

Impossible to enforce this. Define quality scenarios, it is different for everyone. It would just become a staff discretion mess.

No thank you

It sucks but you can't really enforce this.
I don't understand why people play on an RP server to watch their virtual bank accounts grow and get addicted to gambling either lol

While I do understand it can be a very slippery slope, I believe some sort of action even if not outright rules would be beneficial.
It really does suck and can ruin your day in the server if you get just the right low effort guy.

I would like to point people who have commented towards the fact I have acknowladged how subjective "quality rp" is, and how it isn't great to tell people how to roleplay, before making the same point in the comments

To be fair. When roleplaying you can't always expect to be the victor, The loading screen doesn't say "Serious PVP Server" it says Serious Roleplaying Server. Your skills kills and feelings on such should be second to the main advertised point of the server. If roleplaying is not the forefront focus why advertise yourself as serious?

Roleplaying is firstly about creating a story, than it is getting a kill.

But given how the server works quite a lot of people don't care about the roleplay and would rather indulge themselves in the PVP aspect of the server. Even though its advertised as a Serious Roleplaying Server, if that was the main aspect there would be no point in having quite a few of the systems that are in place. A couple examples of this is the drug system which, in my experience, predominantly creates PVP scenarios (base raiding and mugging) and bank raiding which alone has rules in place that stop the creation of some possible roleplay scenarios (e.g the inclusion of hostages).

You are right in saying that you cant always expect to be the victor, but no-one wants to lose and no-one is going purposely put themselves at a disadvantage and do so just to enrich someone else's gameplay when it will negatively impact theirs. The rules in place already make it so people have to follow some procedures and do things a certain way so that (in the majority of situations), everybody can come out happy.

The people who prefer each side of the server (PVP and RP) tend to end up hanging around each other anyways so just find ur niche ig

Zirky u only made this cause a cop didn't rp to ur standards im ngl bad idea not everyone wants to be enthusiastic larpers
No need to throw shade, this is a suggestion thread.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In regards to the suggestion. I personally agree that a lot of "RP Scenarios" can be extremely lazy and sometimes just make no sense and I'm not specifically targeting jobs here, I'm talking about players in general. The amount of times when you mildly irritate someone and they go straight to gun pointing you? It's kind of ridiculous.

I do think there could be an improvement on the side of players in terms of their quality of RP and level of effort they put into it HOWEVER I also do agree with the many responses on this thread regarding how impossibly difficult something like this would be to enforce from a staff point of view. Reports can already take a fair while to get responded to due to the sheer amount of them and this would probably double that number.

I also think like you stated yourself in the suggestion that everyone's idea of quality rp could vary and so it could very much be down to interpretation which would again just make moderating it more difficult.

With all this being said, I do think something needs to happen in regards to the level of roleplay because as you stated, this is advertised as a serious RP server and a lot of the time it really isn't serious roleplay. While this suggestion probably isn't the best way to fix the issue I do think it has brought up a valid point about the quality of RP on the server.

Yeah forsure, I can see that.
Given i don't want to be telling people how to roleplay
I'd jsut expect people would actually give an attempt

This simply is unacheviable, realistically there is no way we can monitor all 70+ players to ensure "quality" roleplaying, nor would it be good if we staff were inundated with petty and pathetic reports of the like.

The downvotes and replies to this suggestion already speak enough words.

If people want to grind raids, robbery's and muggings with little interaction, then so be it.

There is plenty of good roleplay oppertunitys if you look in the right places.
