Preface
Welcome to the May 2024 edition of the Monthly Roundup. This newsletter is designed to keep our employees and the public updated with any changes in the city or department. Attached to the newsletter will be a message from the office of the Chiefs of Department, awards, key moments and careers. Any additions to the newsletter please contact Human Resources via helpdesk.Message from the Chief
We have now reached the end of May and are quickly making our way through the year. As I usually say in these messages, all those working in administrative roles have been putting in good work this month to get through applications and assist in divisions running smoothly. I am always happy to see people getting stuck in and doing their bit to ensure there are no backlogs building up.The Sergeant application is now live, which I know is a popular topic at the moment due to demand for the role. An announcement has been posted recently by Head of Operations Sean which details the new process and how it works. Instead of an application, individuals that are interested in climbing to the rank of Sergeant will apply to register their interest, and you will be expected to patrol with command members to demonstrate competency. In other news, our Human Resources team are also looking to bring back game night, so keep your eyes peeled as there will be announcements for this in June. If you have any suggestions for game night, create a ticket to Human Resources on the help desk.
As always, thank you all for the effort you’ve put in and if you have anything you’d like to ask me, drop me a message or John Davids.
- Chief of Department Hayden James
