Welcome to the May 2026 edition of the Monthly Roundup. This newsletter is designed to keep our employees and the public updated with any changes in the city or department. MESSAGE FROM THE CHIEF
As May comes to a close we once again saw a relatively eventful month.
As some of you may be aware, two command member vacancies have recently opened, following the departure of two long term and excellent command members, locksmith and barrel. We would like to take the time to thank them for their excellent work and leadership.
If being a member of these command teams is too much for you, but you wish to help out, internal affairs investigator applications have also opened! This is a genuine golden opportunity to involve yourself in one of the most rewarding yet challenging administrative roles we have to offer, as well as gain some core experience and knowledge that is indispensable for progression!
As June comes along, we hope everyone enjoys the closing months of spring. Throughout the month several events commemorating both pride and men’s mental health month are planned, so stay tuned!
- Deputy Chief of Department Vinnie Bathory

Officer of the Month - MONTH 2026
Awarded to: Officer Tebucious Whimsington 2484 (MJ)
"MJ was nominated by several colleagues in recognition of his outstanding dedication, consistently high activity levels, and excellent policing. Beyond his performance while on duty, MJ demonstrated a strong commitment to his growth as an officer by regularly seeking guidance, asking thoughtful questions, and taking the initiative to strengthen his knowledge around laws & policies. His willingness to learn & improve himself has not gone unnoticed. We hope to see you continue down this path, and we're excited to see you continue to develop your skillset. Congratulations!"
- Major Damon Creed (Aquaa), Operation Services
Police Distinguished Service
Awarded to: Mao Kaisa 3126 (Mage)
It gives the Head of Internal Affairs and the Head of Professional Standards great pleasure to award Lieutenant Mao Kaisa with a Police Distinguished Service Award for their flawless and extensive work as an Internal Affairs Command Member. Despite having only been in the role for a short time, Mage has shown unwavering commitment and kept the division running smoothly during a period where the availability of the rest of Command has been severely limited. Without Mage's efforts the likelihood of severe disruption to the complaints service would have been almost certain, and they have cemented themselves as an integral part of Command. We thank them and hope they continue to both enjoy and prosper in their role, and believe they represent the service-focussed qualities of a future senior leader in the Department.
- Captain Acer Joseph, Internal Affairs
