PREFACE
Welcome to the April 2026 edition of the Monthly Roundup. This newsletter is designed to keep our employees and the public updated with any changes in the city or department. Attached to the newsletter will be a message from the office of the Chiefs of Department, awards, key moments and careers. Any additions to the newsletter please contact Human Resources via helpdesk.
MESSAGE FROM THE CHIEF
April has been a busy month for the department, with several new faces in the command teams. I would like to welcome everyone who has recently joined and I hope you have a great time in your new roles.
We have also made very needed changes to our Officer Handbook, which should help newer officers understand the department's policies and procedures better. I would like to massively thank everyone who contributed to the updates and I encourage all officers to review the handbook to stay informed.
We should also note that our Head of Development Services, Sindarin, has stepped down from his position. We're grateful for his contributions to the development of this new PLPD website and wish him all the best moving forward. Thank you for all of your work and effort!

Officer of the Month - April 2026
Awarded to: Senior Officer William Collins 1420 (Cree)
"It's my pleasure to award Cree with the Officer of the Month award for April. Cree was commended by several command members for a variety of reasons such as his consistency, professionalism, and clear dedication to dispatch. Cree has put in countless hours into a role that is widely unpopular due to its many challenges, and he's done so positively in a way where he's supporting officers on duty to a standard that is refreshing to see. Really well deserved recognition, keep it up!"
- Major Damon Creed (Aquaa), Operation Services
Police Distinguished Service
Awarded to: Deputy Chief of Department Edward Field 3542 (Tilin)
"Tilin has been with the Tactical Firearms Command team for a significant period of time, and I want to give him recognition for all of the hard work he has contributed to the team. Tilin has by far been one of the best command members I have ever had the privilege to work alongside me and has always made sure that TFU ran as smoothly as possible. His contributions have played a major role in the success of the team, and with his recent promotion to Deputy Chief, I do not doubt that he will bring the same level of excellence to PD as a whole!"
- Captain Jacob Matthews (Megasaw), Head of Tactical Firearms
Police Meritorious Achievement
Awarded to: Staff Sergeant Lewis Vin-Fent 6877 (Lhealey05)
"I am pleased to award Lhealy05 a Police Meritorious Achievement medal for his work during the development of our new Traffic Officer application. Lhealy05's contributions played a massive part in finalising the new application stage and contributed to the high level of efficiency of the Road Traffic Unit, and was a particularly noteworthy act of service for the division. Lhealy05 spent countless nights writing our new application and put a large amount of effort and creativity into it, showing that he has gone above and beyond."
- Captain Joe Dixon (Matthew), Head of Traffic
Police Distinguished Service
Awarded to: Sergeant Steven Ficklestein 1000 (Sean)
"It is my pleasure to award Sean with the Police Distinguished Service award on behalf of the PLPD Senior Management Team. Sean stepped back into the role of Head of Patrol and was able to smoothly run the division & ensure it maintained its structure. His commitment and tenure within Patrol have made a great impact on the wider PD alongside building one of the strongest command teams Patrol has had. Thank you for everything you've done, I hope you can accept this award as a token of our appreciation for your great work!"
- Major Damon Creed (Aquaa), Operation Services
Police Meritorious Achievement
Awarded to: Deputy Chief of Department Edward Field 3542 (Tilin)
"I would like to thank Tilin for his recent dedication and contribution to the recent overhaul of the Officer's Handbook. Since Tilin had been appointed as Deputy Chief, it has been a pleasure to work with him and his commitment to overhaul the handbook hasn't gone unnoticed, to make it easier to read, keeping up-to-date information, getting others' feedback to improve it even further and, just in general, making a great revision to the Handbook itself. I look forward to his future contributions."
- Chief of Department Schneider Ficklestein
Medal of Valor
Awarded to: Sergeant Sindarin Elrond (Sindarin)
"On behalf of the Office of the Chiefs of Department we are pleased to award Sindarin the Medal of Valor for their continued work in revamping the original PLPD.online website into what it is today. It goes without saying this took a tremendous amount of time, work and effort and this would not have been possible without Sindarin's dedication."
- Deputy Chief of Department Jaden Rogerson
