Message from the Chief
“We have had some substantial changes to the Department over the month of October. To begin with, we said goodbye to Mim who stepped down from his position of Major. He made a significant contribution over the years, and we are grateful for the work he did for the Department. Following on from his resignation, we opened up applications for his position as Head of Operations Services. Following a rapid recruitment process with consultation of the advisory board, we opted to pick Collier to be our new Operations Services line manager. As Collier was already a member of SMT as the Administrative Services line manager prior to his role switch, we opened up recruitment for his old role, which A1L successfully achieved following the same consultation with the advisory board. Both of them have already started making some good changes, and I look forward to seeing how they bring their lines going forward.
In addition to changes to SMT, we also recruited a number of officers into command positions, which has allowed for more opportunities for those within the Department. As the Chief, one of my priorities was always to allow for more opportunities and progression, which I believe I have been successfully doing and will continue to do into the future.
Our command teams have been hard at work modifying the recruitment process for roles within the Department such as Traffic, Firearms and Taser to increase numbers as there was a clear shortage of people being successful in these positions. I am proud to report that since introducing these new measures, we have seen a good increase in the number of colleagues who hold these newer positions and will be looking at producing some data to demonstrate this in the near future.
The Deputy Chief has decided to take a Leave of Absence until the 12th of December due to personal reasons beyond his control. TinySlayer and I discussed with John and decided this was the best solution currently, and we hope that he is still able to fulfil his role upon his return in early December. As usual, if you have any queries, questions or just want to chat, feel free to drop me a message.”

Awarded to: Captain Albrecht Ficklestein 5186 (Mini)
"I am happy to award Captain Mini a Distinguished Service Award for his dedication and hard work throughout his service as Head of Patrol. Mini has shaped the division and not only bettered Patrol but the PLPD as a whole. It has been a pleasure assisting him in doing so and I look forward to working alongside him as he takes up his new role as Head of Traffic. Thank you for your hard work and dedication."
- Major Jimmy Brown, Operation Services
Medal of Valor
Awarded to: Captain Schneider Ficklestein 1210 (A1L)
"We would like to recognise, reward and thank Captain Schneider Ficklestein for his commitment to the Department over the past few years. During his service, he has served as Head of Internal Affairs for over 2 years, worked in various administrative roles and consistently delivered what is expected of him and beyond in his positions. Alongside this role, he has also served as an acting member of the Department’s Senior Management Team on multiple occasions to assist running Administrative Services, which has been incredibly beneficial to us. Despite him being here for such a long time, he still consistently remains one of our most active command members, he takes initiative and continues to do his job to a high standard. Keep up the great work, and we look forward to seeing what you can achieve in the future. "
