Preface
Welcome to the October 2023 edition of the Monthly Roundup. This newsletter is designed to keep our employees and the public updated with any changes in the city or department. Attached to the newsletter will be a message from the office of the Chiefs of Department, awards, key moments and careers. Any additions to the newsletter please contact Human Resources via helpdesk.
Message from the Chief
We have had another busy month in the Department, and I am happy to say good progress has been made. To begin with, Jordan has recently taken over running the Dispatch division, and already he has made some substantial changes. He has recruited a command team and has a number of additional Senior Dispatchers as part of his team. With this workforce, I can only expect that the division will continue to excel and see improvements overall. In the month of October, Dispatchers worked 247 hours on duty, up from 64 hours in September and 31 hours in August. There are some nice changes coming in game very soon to the PD relating to Dispatch, so keep your eyes peeled.
Development of our new and improved PLPD Online website is still well under way. If you have any ideas for the new website, such as features or something you don’t like about the existing website, send a message to Fredy and Sindarin to let them know. As for when the website will be done, we hope to have a stable release of the website ready before the end of the year, but of course blockers can occur, so this is not definite.
In the next couple of days, Mallard will be releasing the results for Q3 of the Employee Satisfaction Survey. We had a good number of responses in this survey this time round, and I’m here to reassure you all that these responses will be used to make improvements to our divisions.
As always, feel free to drop myself or John Davids a message if you have any concerns or just fancy a chat.
- Chief of Department Hayden James

Officer of the Month - October 2023
Awarded to: Sergeant Callum Byfrod 7266 (The HitMan)
"The Office of Operations Services would like to award The HitMan with the Officer of the Month Award for the month of October. During the month of October, The HitMan has been patrolling with lower-ranking Officers and giving out well-written observation reports. He has also achieved a high amount of hours on duty where he has remained professional at all times and set an example for other Officers. Keep up the good work!"
- Major Steven Ficklestein (Sean), Operation Services
Police Distinguished Service Award
Awarded to: Sergeant Rick Fielding 3205 (RickFielding)
"It is with great pleasure and pride to take this opportunity to award Rick Fielding the Distinguished Service Award. Ever since becoming a Patrol Trainer, Rick has gone above and beyond his duties of a patrol trainer, grading nearly 100 taser applications every month which is magnitudes higher than what is expected of him. He has demonstrated amazing ability to stay consistent within his work every month and has never failed to maintain tackling the constant flood of taser applications that come in. Without Ricks tenacious efforts, the upkeep of taser applications would be in a detrimental state. Thank you on behalf of the entire Patrol Command team for your effort as a Patrol Trainer. We hope to see you sticking around with us for the foreseeable future and we hope that you can accept this award as a token of our immense appreciation for your hard work."
- Captain Anakin Slytherin (Aquaa), Head of Patrol
