Brief description of idea:
Adding new awards which are only given for in character situations.
Currently, officer of the month is the only award given for in character actions, and even so, they don't seem to be doing this very often.
Examples could include:
Medal of persistence:
Given to officers who maintain high activity, performing their duties without infractions and in accordance to the PLPD Policies and server rules and laws, gaining a large number of positive observation reports and drawing the attention of the command team. Officers who receive the medal of persistence should be commended for a promotion alongside it, if they are a rank below Sergeant.
Medal of exceptional conduct:
Given to officers who handle a situation effectively that is "above their payroll" , or handling a highly complex situation, such as hostage situations, effectively without issue.
I'll think of more examples later.
What benefits would this idea have for the department:
Officers being recognised for their efforts, as opposed to just being punished for their slip ups.
Basically gives officers validation for their work.
What potential negatives could this have for the department:
Potential for abuse?
