This is a thread for people who might not know Pokemon showdown.
Pokémon Showdown is a Pokémon battle simulator. Play Pokémon battles online! Play with randomly generated teams, or build your own! Fully animated! TRAILER
It runs completely in browser. You dont need to make a account or anything, but you can make one and play for points and stuff, it uses same ranking like online chess. Making account require no email.
Once you have a name u can use random pokemon or make ur own team in teambuilder. Using different tiers of pokemon and rulesets. I am not a competitive Pokemon player myself, but basically there are Gens and rankings (Uber, OU, UU, PU) and if you want to play normal pokemon wtih no rules, you go "anything goes".
if you use teambuilder you can pick Pokemon depening on Generation and ruleset
then u can choose depending on that gen all the possible attacks, ability, item held, nature (EV and IVS) and even gender and hidden ability
U can challange to a match with random pokemon very easily and quickly, great for having quick match against friend
In game it is exactly like Pokemon on console. You can see ur pokemon attacks and stats in the menu aswell as HP and status
if u are affected by stat boost or debuff it will show up in the information, also shows accuracy and dmg of attacks
Hovering over enemy pokemon also shows u type, possible abilites, possible speed and any information that u already know from previous rounds like attacks u have seen
