POLICE COMPUTER UPDATE

Hello there, quite a while ago I made concept for a Police Computer, a couple of days ago made some nifty concept art and ran it past @Fredy. Over the past couple of days he's been working on it and it's pretty much done! below I'll put some information on how it will all work. Remember, things can be changed, if we don't agree on something, suggest it and it can be discussed!

The whole system may seem a bit basic, however this was made as a base, we can add to it and change it so again, if you have any suggestions, please post them!

• When you first join, a record will create with your photo. Your photo will update every time you are jailed or fined. This means that you can possibly deceive the Police by changing clothes.
• Press F3 from a squad car or a computer desk whilst sitting down inside the PD to access.
• There is a remarks section on everyone's record, when you're jailed or fined, it will create a remark with the reason and amount. (At the moment you can not enter a reason for jailing)
• Your whole profile will be wiped if you're shot and killed by a Law Enforcement Officer (this was up for debate, how exactly do you guys want it to be wiped?)
• Warrants stay indefinitely, even on rejoining.
• Certain ranks can view things that others can't, for example phone numbers and owned properties.
• Senior Officers+ are able to add a manual remark on a profile.

I would strongly recommend having it reset when killed by an LEO. Such system is present on ArmA 3 Servers Serious RP Servers and it works pretty good.

Honestly, this server revolves too much around cops and criminals. Not much work has been put into the PassiveRP elements of this server, and it's very boring to PassiveRP as a result. I feel the owners should be working more on the government jobs (Not officers), furniture, etc more than the drugs, police, and weaponry. What we have now works well anyway, we don't need to upgrade it. What we need is updates that benefit PassiveRP instead of CriminalRP/CopRP.
I'm getting tired of all these updates, really. It's stupid.

omg this will make traffic stops so much more fun, instead of just slapping on a ticket you ask for ID and run his name and all that, love it

This is the reason why PERP is one of the best and most realistic servers on Garry's Mod compared to DarkRP. It has so many features and just improving everyday by adding this Police Computer Update. I can't wait to try it, I bet it will be awesome

Passive roleplay doesn't mean just sitting inside a house doing /me drinks water. This computer allows a lot more situations to take place like traffic stop and basic criminal investigations. If you have any PassiveRP suggestions, make them, a lot of people get hung up about the lack of 'PassiveRP' but they don't do anything about it. If the owners had the right suggestions and concept for it they'd jump straight to it.

If You've been in this community since evocity which I believe you haven't you should know about a thread that Stephen make about more legal jobs, obviously there's more than you think Behind it, you can't just add a job and think it's fine, you have to add up a good enough system that makes people want to do it, let's say for example that you want to make money quickly but legally, so you let's say perhaps make a resturant, you might be doing this on the release of the system because of the usual hype around those things, but then it's going to slowly die out if not the profit is very good, so how are you going to balance it out? I believe that you as a player have the responsibility to bring up to both Stephen and Fredy about ideas on how to balance things out, as this gamemode is trying to emulate reality in both a serious and fun way. Now also understand that PassiveRP is very easy, a half year ago Stephen opened a resturant at Hungriges, me and Fexxe went there and had such a great time and even though he doesn't need it I think Stephen make a reasonable amount of money from it. So yes you can argue that the developers should work on more jobs and such, but if you want it to come quickly then have good ideas for it, they don't play the game, they don't know fully what we want. Also PassiveRP is what you make it

I have been proud to be a part of PH since around October/November 2014. In my memory, the recent changes to the PD are the first major ones to how people actually play the game as cop. I'm not too sure what your definition of "passive" roleplay is but I firmly believe that there is no such thing. You cannot 'passively' roleplay since roleplay tends to require active participation.

There is however, actual roleplay. This covers things like actually conducting decent traffic stops, owning a shop or casino, taking part in an actually peaceful demonstration outside city hall.
The jobs and features that are already in the game already provide loads of opportunities for excellent roleplay. Some of my favourite examples have been @ChewKokLong420 and 'Lizard Lick Towing' as well as @Prepper stepping up as a 'Wildlife Officer'.

It all depends on what you make of it; there are loads of opportunities already (why not stage a fitness class in the park?) and whilst more legal ways of making money would be appreciated I think that you're just failing to take advantage of them.
