Topic: Police Dispatcher
Short explanation (in notes):
- A new government job that would remain in the PD, nest to the person at the jail cells.
- They would be the only people able to see 911 calls and reports, so they would have to inform other officers of the situations.
- They would not hold authority over the police chief but could advise officers on the situation, the police chief can always overrule any order that they give however.
Detailed description (why should it become added/...): I think that having the police chief take 911 calls and everyone in the police force being able to see the 911 messages can be a little unrealistic. The dispatcher would get a 911 call and would handle it and then report it to the appropriate service, e.g: "Civilian reporting fire at the suburbs, fire units please investigate." The contacted servicemen would then handle the situation, they could contact dispatch if they required more information and the dispatch could call back the caller.
Optional additions:
- If there is no one working as a dispatcher have calls come through like they do now.
- Make a set of dispatcher rules to make sure they act appropriately.
