So i've recently gone from a desktop PC to a laptop. I've had it around 2 months and in the last week or so I have started to crash fairly regularly.

My laptop specs are as follows;

R7 5800H, 16GB DDR4, 1TB NVMe SSD, 6GB GeForce RTX 3060

The crashes are really strange with my GMod staying open and 'alive' as i can still hear sounds, however, my screen freezes and I have to Alt + F4 to close the game.

Any tips on how to fix this or what the issue may be?

Not to state the obvious but also check the obvious things.
Such as checking file integrity for gmod,
checking your drivers are up to date and checking it isn’t some hardware issue like broken RAM or something.

Do you utilise a auto exec folder? if so what commands do you have in it, using certain commands causes GMOD to become unstable and more prone to crashing. Removing them will fix the issue.

Not trying to be annoying or anything but realistically I recommend searching reddit/steam. Likely this isn't a perp dedicated issue so try find reddit/steam pages discussing this topic or even articles like this.
Just 2 of many I could find relatively quickly.
