Lets Calculate the Deceleration of the ride, and see how well our body's would sustain to the damage that rollercoaster crash in the news.

We know the Speed of the Ride at the Collision was: 50mph - Lets convert this to ms - 22.352 meters per second as 1 mile is 1.609344 km.

We know the car decelerated to a halt in the space of around 0.8 seconds (I measured it looking at the video).

We can deduce that: U (Initial Velocity) = 22.352ms-1 V (Final Velocity) = 0ms-1 and T(Time) = 0.8 seconds.

Using SUVAT = V=U + AT
-22.352/0.8 = A
A = -27.94ms-2 Deceleration

This is incredible deceleration. Anyone mind doing some other calculus and we can find out how fast a Bugatti accelerates and compare? :)

1+1 = 2

This means that the carriages crashed while moving

And............. mirror news :kappa:

I'm on the case! Expect this post to be edited soon, so please no dumb ratings.

I'm a calculus novice, so if I don't get this right, tell me what I got wrong, but using Distance Divided by Time over Time, I got an acceleration result of 11m/s square for a Bugatti Veyron World Class Supersport World Record Edition. So yeah, RIP in kneecaps.

Oh yeah, here's my source. RIP in reliability: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fastest_production_cars_by_acceleration

Nothing beats using maths to emphasise how fucked those poor teens legs are

Why would you make this so boring, it is such an amazing talent. Like looking at an explosion and going I wonder how hot that is as opposed to holy shit look at that boom.
